Yep food challenge as well as the debt-baby challenge. It would be interesting as much as anything to see how long £100 can last. Our total debt is actually quite a bit higher (about £3000), but I've taken the minimum payments we make automatically off the total so this is only overpayments.

Still no word off NIM from the court case, I'm so nervous here I'm having kittens.

One of my colleagues just got a huge bunch of flowers sent to work by her husband - I thought flowers stopped when the ring went on?! I was duped! Actually that's a lie, NIM got me some lovely lillies less than a month ago (which the cat duly ate).
    Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81
    Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off
    Met NIM 23/06/2008

OH never buys me flowers :( He doesn't see the point since 'they're just going to die'... although he was perfectly happy to spend £20 on a lovely bunch for his Mum on Mother's Day! I just go and buy my own though, I love having a bunch of white roses on the dining room table (bought at 3pm on Saturday afternoons when the flower man on the market is selling them off super cheap!)

Got friends coming round for tea tonight; I'm going to rope them into helping make crowns for the bridal shower (make them work for their meal!)- I was going to buy plastic tiaras but I refuse to pay silly money for some tat that people will wear for an hour! I'm going to make them out of card (or maybe left over wallpaper if it turns out to be sturdy enough!) and decorate them as I've got enough sparkly stuff in my crafty stash to last a lifetime!

Is that what it is? I thought the RPI was really high when they took the measure this time?

NIM just called. Case hasn't been heard yet, court is dismissed until 2pm. Builder has some random woman with him, they're sat a few rows behind and keep making !!!!!y 'whispered' comments about him and giggling. I just don't get that, the case is only money, but I can always hold my head up knowing I treat people with respect and decorum.

How pathetic Dinah, you'd think they'd be acting a little more grown-up considering they'd been summoned to court!

My attitude is if we loose we loose, our life doesn't hinge upon it, there are much more exciting things going on and I won't give it a second thought other than worrying how to pay if a third party decides we do rightfully owe money. But at the moment it's like he pulled a magic 'invoice' out of thin air with a random number on it, and I don't see why we should automatically pay it!

Sounds like they area bit childish! Really hope things go well for you and NIM.

Birdie - you must be getting all excited! Bless your OH for obviously thinking about it all before.

Cinny - sorry to hear about your OH's Nan. They do put on a front don't they. Good to hear your OH is very caring. My Grandma came out of hospital sat after her fall a few weeks ago and we introduced her to Poppy which she loved. She is having someone come and take her up to bed every night and someone bring her down every morning now. Bit of a hassle so think she might have to move soon.

I have had lots of flowers last few weeks (not from OH lol) so think I am all flowered out for the moment.

It is either the lower of Bank of England Base Rate + 1% or RPI inflation from March each year (announced in April).

Come on NIM get them beaten in court.

My office were horrified when they heard about it, said we should have all gone down there for the afternoon session and laugh and point at the builder and woman, show them how immature it is.

I still expect it to come down in the middle, I won't be chuffed if they find entirely on the builders side, but I'm not going to let it phase me, it's just one day and what goes around comes around. End of the day they can't take what we don't have.
