Afternoon everyone,
I loved the wedding on Friday and loved her dress, especially the top part.
Dinah - hope you manage to get your jobs done tonight.
Not much news from me. Is hardwork being a mum, little miss decided she wanted to be awake from 3am to 6am. She is a little cutie though so worth it.0 -
Pensions aren't a reason not to do something you love, you just need to be aware you'll have to contribute a chunk more of your wage each month than you do now. They're making employer pensions compulsory soon though - so won't your dad have to set one up anyway?
I'm suprised you're planning to wait so long actually, both you and your OH have seemed really broody! Wouldn't you be better to have one while at your current employer as you'll get maternity pay? NIM understands that if I have to be good for 9 months, so does he - then I won't be boring and sober alone! He's rightly pointed out though giving up alcohol for 9 months will be no issue for him, whereas I like a glass of wine with dinner.
Back to work and back to being good with what I eat. After a lot of pasta for the last week, I had NIMs soup
and homemade bread for lunch and a fruit salad. Forgot breakfast though so that was a Breakaway biscuit
Lol - there is no way I would ask my OH to give up alcohol for 9 months!!! It's not his fault that he can't carry children! OH is not a huge drinker but does like a glass of wine with dinner or a beer out with the lads. They would laugh at him (and rightly so) if he went on a night out to a gig and said he couldn't drink cos I wasn't!!!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

It defo is hard work and once they are moving around it gets even harder. My days at work are a break. Being a SAHM is way harder work and I never thought I would hear myself say that!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Lol I don't want to carry children though, I'm actually kind of dreading it and all the side effects, so I don't think I could cope if his life was the same as normal as though this huge change wasn't in progress, and I was having to change be all earth mothery and sip my cup of tea!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

That kind of saddens and worries me that you feel like that Dinah. Pregnancy really is a wonderful thing (for the most part) and giving up alcohol shouldn't be such a major thing. When you know there is another person growing inside you, you won't want a drink.
And not all women become all 'earth motherly'!!!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Its not that I want a drink, its that I don't want hemmeroids, gas, bleeding nipples, sickness and a tummy that sags no matter how much I exercise. A woman I work with even got a prolapsed uterus which has led to a whole new level of pregnancy fear in me.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Lol - but all these things might not happen to you! It sounds like you need to resolve a lot of these issues before you get pregnant. Are you afraid of the labour/baby itself or just the possible side effects?Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Side effects. I mean, I'd much prefer to go for a picnic in the park than spend 18 hours in odd positions trying to fit a tennis ball through a button hole, but it's the side effects that scare me.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I think i was pretty lucky in my pregnancy, as felt good most the time. The side effects of birth aren't great but definately worth it.
CMD - I can now see why being a mum is so much work. I had a few jobs i wanted to do today and have not managed much yet!0
