I know that feeling about having too much month Dinah! Stupid change of the pay structure has given us a 5 and a half week month with only 3 days extra pay to make up for it. We're skint already and we don't get paid until the 20th! I think my birthday on the 15th will be a quiet one!

Scary about the riots Lara, glad you're OK! Does that happen often?

I loved the wedding! I thought the dress was amazing; of course it was a 'safe' option, she's marrying the future king and billions of eyes are on her, she can hardly go down the aisle wearing Carrie's SATC dress, One would not approve! It was so Grace Kelly-esque with the lace and the neckline and I loved the full skirt and the long-but-not-too-long train.... sigh, I was begging OH to marry me again in church so I could wear a dress like that! She looked stunning and so happy and calm, I blinked back a few tears I have to admit (whilst I was sitting there wearing my tiara and eating chocolate crunch cake that I'd decorated with a crown for the occasion!) The only thing I wasn't mad on was the bouquet, a little too understated. Pippa looked fabulous, I think she's become something of an overnight sensation! Every man I've spoken to since Friday has said, 'Phwoar, that bridesmaid was a bit nice!' I think the white is a bit of a royal tradition for bridesmaids, it might have looked a bit busy if they were in distracting colours, especially against the Red Coats?

Totally agree with you Birdie. I thought she picked the most perfect dress for the occasion. While it wouldn't be something that I would pick or wear I thought it looked sensational on her and don't think I could have seen her in anything else. I thought Pippa looked amazing too and loved her dress. All the fellas I know were talking about how hot she is!

They looked like a couple so much in love and defo made me want to get married again! I thought the day was a triumph :)

I wasn't keen on Posh's outfit and though Chelsy's outfit looked really trashy!

There were a few fashion disasters weren't there?! Posh clearly hoped that people would be so distracted by her dodgy hat that they'd fail to notice that she was wearing a sack. She's looked smarter on shopping trips! Can't believe Beckham wore his OBE on the right either! Those things should come with a manual clearly. Chelsy did look trashy, certainly not like a prospective princess... not that Queenie would allow a Princess Chelsy in the family I'd imagine! And poor Beatrice and Eugenie... what can you say about them?!

All your talk about pensions last week has got me feeling a little panicky... if I leave to work for my Dad he won't be in a position to contribute to a pension for me so I'll have to go private (or not necessarily working for my Dad, but anyone) ... which will be pathetic compared to my current one... urgh, am I stuck here for life?! There's also the fact that if I die tomorrow OH will get nearly £70k straight out and a widowers pension of £9k a year... I like to think that he'll be looked after in my demise!

Last night we had to book a hotel room for a friends wedding in May 2013... the man on the desk was most confused when I called to reserve it but our friends getting married there have been panicking that in the 2 years leading up to it the hotel may fill up, bless them! We have to ring back next June with new card details as we don't even have any cards that are valid till then! :rotfl: I had to check if there was room for a cot just in case... who knows what'll have happened by then!

You are so organised Birdie - checking if there is room for a cot!!! Have you decided when you would like babies?

Yeah - I thought D Beckhams hair was shocking and Eugenie and Beatrice also looked shocking!

I think we'll start trying towards the end of next year. Will be a bit awkward though with our friend's wedding being in May the following year, it's in Aberdeen (hence the hotel booking. We're already starting to save our Clubcard vouchers to pay for it since it's going to be £306 for two nights! Luckily our friend works on the trains and is sorting out free/heavily discounted tickets for the Yorkshire contingient to get up there) and I'd rather not be feeling fat and sober for 2 days whilst everyone else is boozing and enjoying themselves in this posh hotel, but we can't put our lives on hold for them, like Dinah and her cousin's wedding really. I could be in good company anyway as we've got friends getting married next August and they're going to try to get pregnant straight away so we might be nursing our bumps together! It's a long time away though so who knows?

Did you see Camilla get confused at the top of the aisle? She and Charles were supposed to walk down first but it meant she had to turn her back on the Queen (big no-no!) so she kept kind of rotating back and forth not knowing which way to face as they waited! Made me laugh!

Lol - no I didn't see that bit!!! That would have made me laugh too!

I know what you mean about being sober for 2 days. My friends got married in Spain when I was pregnant with Max and I had 3 nights of sober partying!!! Thankfully I have avoided most events this year as we have no weddings. My sister reckons I am due at a perfect time. I got pregnant after Xmas so had a few drinks then, won't be pregnant next Xmas, and will be able to wear floaty maxi dresses during the summer.

I kind of liked when Max was born though (March) as it was only a few weeks before the weather got nicer and we could go for lots of walks. This baby will be born and a few weeks later the weather will deteriorate!

Pensions aren't a reason not to do something you love, you just need to be aware you'll have to contribute a chunk more of your wage each month than you do now. They're making employer pensions compulsory soon though - so won't your dad have to set one up anyway?

I'm suprised you're planning to wait so long actually, both you and your OH have seemed really broody! Wouldn't you be better to have one while at your current employer as you'll get maternity pay? NIM understands that if I have to be good for 9 months, so does he - then I won't be boring and sober alone! He's rightly pointed out though giving up alcohol for 9 months will be no issue for him, whereas I like a glass of wine with dinner.

Back to work and back to being good with what I eat. After a lot of pasta for the last week, I had NIMs soup and homemade bread for lunch and a fruit salad. Forgot breakfast though so that was a Breakaway biscuit :(

Oh I don't know. My Dad doesn't employ anyone right now so I'm sure he'll find out all of the legal requirements once he's ready to bring us (that is, my brother and me) on board. I think I'll stick it out here for the maternity leave though, might as well!

We are quite broody but we know that there's no major rush, OH really wants 2 more holidays first, so that'll be done by next summer I suppose... I really think it depends on our circumstances next year and who else will be having babies to put the idea into his head! I highly doubt he'd be able to abstain from drink for the whole 9 months but he'll probably cope better than I will! I do like my wine...

The ladies at work weigh themselves every Tuesday morning and put £2 a week in the kitty for a treat every few months and they have to pay 50p extra if they put weight on. I've joined the club for extra motivation to lose the extra lbs as I don't want to lose the extra 50p a week! I'm not as heavy as I thought I was so already starting well!

That's a good idea! I might set up my own little club - £2 in if I loose, £5 in if I gain!

I've just finished the paperwork for it, all funds payable directly to me. Anyone else want in? I'll be investing the money in something somewhat MSE :p
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

Lol do you actually have a plan for the funds? Do you want to join in too, become the second and most likely final member of my club?
