I think i was pretty lucky in my pregnancy, as felt good most the time. The side effects of birth aren't great but definately worth it.

CMD - I can now see why being a mum is so much work. I had a few jobs i wanted to do today and have not managed much yet!

I know - it's really hard to get anything done. They are very demanding in different ways at different ages. I found 3-6 months the easiest time to get things done and when I got the most sleep!

They are worth it though :)

Meant to say Wendz - my advice is just get the essential things done and concentrate on cuddling your newborn. That stage is a very short amount of time and you want to remember it fondly. Housework etc can wait!

How are the hormones this week?

I know what you mean about the pregnancy side effects. I'm quite attached to my boobs as they are, they're the only part of me I like :rotfl: I think it's natural to worry about how your body will change, all worth it of course.

Think I was having a bit of a freak out earlier - two new mums have returned to work today and they cornered me in the kitchen to ask when mine was due and kept looking at my tummy (its all cake girls - please believe me!) and then told me all the pregnancy and new baby horror stories (one didn't get more than 2 hours sleep in a row until 5 1/2 months when she stopped breast feeding!)

List not going great - I'm so tired.

Have you been getting out and about and meeting other mums (or are you planning to, as I know Poppy is very young). From when Max was about 5 weeks old I met up with a mothers group and I never looked back. They were a great support and lifeline to me as I had no family around. It was nervewracking going to the group but once I got there it was fine :)

 what a pair of insensitive clowns. Can't believe they did that to you.

I found I had loads of so-called 'helpful' people only too eager to tell me about how my life was going to end. I just ignored them. It ends only if you want it to!

Your list of horrors freaked the bejeezus out of me last night Dinah! I've been feeling really nauseous for the last 2 weeks and it comes in waves which has been getting gradually worse so I got myself all worked up thinking it might be Something so took a test last night. Negative thank goodness! All I kept thinking was, 'I won't be able to go on any rides and I'll be too fat to enjoy myself on my honeymoon!' Clearly we're not *quite* ready! Needless to say I wasted last night, half of it spent worrying about taking the test and the other half calming down! And OH had used the last of the bottle of wine in the fridge for cooking so I couldn't even have a drink!

I blogged about my Royal Wedding Cake yesterday (good thing about being back at work, time to draft blog posts!), whaddya think?!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in an age, been oddly busy but looking back can't really remember what I've been doing. Just about caught up with the thread though. And I'll start by saying Poppy is adorable, Wendz!

Dinah - Have to second most of what CMD said, although I do get where you're coming from with the scares. Even more so for you going by what you said your Mum's pregnancy was like (if I remember it correctly!) but I'm 99% sure once you and NIM do decide to have kids, all the worries will wobble off when you think about the lovely little baba you'll have at the end of it.

Birdie - I get your scare! I had the same thing a month back, although when negative came up on the test I was a little sad. In my head we had little Ralph in a dinosaur themed room :rotfl: I'm overly broody right now though, popped into TKMaxx at the weekend and I somehow ended up by the baby things going gooey. I love that biscuit cake too :D The crown looks fab!

Morning people - hope everyone is well! Yeah pregnancy and childbirth is pretty grim but you figure that millions of women have babies, nay have more than one baby, so it must be worth it! And you get grimness anywhere in life, look at manky toenail which still hasn't fallen off :D

I've been all babied out the last few days - Isabella pulled chunks of my hair out and William whacked me in the face with a rattle, and both pooped while they were sitting on my knee ... I don't think I'm quite ready yet!!

I enjoyed the wedding I have to say and I do quite like Kate but I'm with Dinah, she played it so safe with that dress! Everyone's banging on about what a style icon she is/is going to be but I find her quite conservative all round. I was expecting something a bit slinkier, though I suppose you might need something with a bit more 'presence' if you're getting married in Westminster Abbey. The lace sleeves reminded me of Mam's wedding dress from 1981, not of Grace Kelly.

Lara hope you're OK after the riots - sounds scary!! Speaking of boobs, I got measured last week - oh my god it's a revelation!!!! Spent £80 on bras but they've made me so happy! Especially the sports one!
