Most pensions you can cash in the last 2 years payments in or something like that, but I wouldn't dare touch mine, I'm already scared it won' be enough to live off when we're older.

Can't touch my company pension, not that I would either- like Dinah I'm worried it won't be enough to live off!

Do you think you'd actually be happy to leave your kids a week at a time CMD? We were talking about this with my parents on Monday and Mum said even now she really misses us when she's on holiday and wants her babies with her!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

I think it is hard to say until I am in the situation. I wouldn't leave Max for a week as he is way too young but when he is 6/7 it could be different. Having said that, I don't think I could indulge myself in a weeks holiday when it could be spent on a nice holiday with my children. I think weekends away are probably more realistic!

My parents used to leave us with one set of grandparents a week a year, and every Friday night. We loved our week with the grandparents, and mum thinks its important for them to have a weeks rest as apparently we were pretty exhausting! I love the idea of still having one adult night a week, catch up with one another, one of my biggest fears is becoming one of those couples who call one another mummy and daddy and when the kids go to bed they've no idea what to say to one another. Even if it's hard I intend to try to take at least a couple of weekends away from my kids, I think it'll make it easier when they go to school too, might be a bit less of a wrench for all concerned. But hey, I don't have them yet, maybe if I'm ever ready I'll find I feel completely differently.

I totally agree with everything you have said there Dinah. We haven't become that type of couple and I would hate if we ever did!

I have/would leave Max for a weekend with my parents as I trust them 100%. I just think a week is too long because he is a bit young.

I defo think couples need time to themselves!

Glad the holiday went OK Dinah, shame wasn't great but at least you have experienced it now. The horse ride sounds scary!

That is so strange you took that pic Dinah! Definately phychic links in the thread hehe.

We took Poppy to be registered this morning so she now officially exists.

Got some good news yesterday that i have been given a payrise! Wasn't expecting it as on maternity leave and isn't much but will be helpful towards childcare when i go back to work.

    Hello Mummy Wendz!

Great news on the payrise! How are you feeling and how is Poppy today?

I am Ok thanks, she only woke up to be fed once last night so got a reasonable amount of sleep. She has been good all morning too , sleeping while we were out and having a nap now.

Sounds like an excellent baby. I won't tell my sister about the 1 wake up. Her 5 week old is up at 10pm, 2am, 6am and 9am! She is wrecked!
