Ooh did someone mention chocolate hobnobs? I'm in!!!

Well done Dinah for including your student loan into the rest of your debts. I always left out my overdraft and my Irish CC (don't really know why?) but I feel better now knowing thay my sig is my full figure. Yes, my figure is depressing but at least it relects the full amount of debt I have.

I am looking foward to seeing you blasting this debt, and hopefully I will pick up a few money making tips along the way :)

Good luck in your new thread

No worries Dinah, the sooner you get me the numbers the sooner I can work it our accurately. I can always keep you updated on a monthly basis (which would be fairly rough and ready though). Just need to let me know if you repayments increase. Also I can give you a rough estimate on when your loan would be repaid.

Thanks CMD. Only thing stopping me loosing my marbles is knowing we have a canny bit more equity in the house than we have in debt, otherwise I'd break down in a blubbering wreak that it was all for nothing!

Not payday for another 2 days, we've been on freezer food other than a few bits of fruit and veg and some bread for the last week, last night we had some homemade mushroom and spinach wellingtons with butternut squash mash... haven't quite worked out what tonight is yet, other than I've got a portion of mash out to defrost for NIM. Lunch was defrosted homemade soup, and a huge tiger loaf as Tesco had them on offer for today, £1.30 down to 50p and still warm from the oven!

Wow what a challenge Dinah! £25K in 14 months (or less).

It's taken me exactly two years to clear £12K (less if I hadn't added around £6K, doh). Will follow as usual (and look out for tips, recipes, general bits of chat).

It will all be worth it in the end, especially when you have a lovely house. At least the debt isn't a result of silly spending. You had a great wedding, honeymoon and now you have a house!

    Good morning all.

Thanks for all the positive messages, I'm feeling pretty upbeat at the moment (we'll see how I feel at the end of month 1!)

As this is my last 'free' day I'm trying to clear as many non debt things as possible. So todays to do list reads:

    • Find mum something special on etsy for Christmas
    • Look into irish holiday cottages/narrowboats for Tesco vouchers
    • Check bank accounts
    • Make bread and butter pudding
    • Find preserves book
    • Make chutney for christmas presents
    • Write thank you cards not already done
    • Call house of fraser, find out why our wedding presents STILL haven't been sent (8 weeks after the wedding is a bit much!)
    • List car
    • Check MSE regarding if I can relist items free on ebay this weekend
    • Do menu plan for the month
    • Find Cranks book
    • Draw up weekly shopping list for the month
    • Put Tesco orders in for the month to get cheap slots
    • Find some kind of healthy recipe for something to do with all the passionfruits.
    • Make our lunches ready for tomorrow
    • Update budget for November
    • Join a boiler mendy scheme, just in case (anyone has any recommendations please say!)
    • Upload meter readings to Scottish Power
