Phewie, this has been a busy week! I'm shattered and it's a busy weekend ahead too - but lots of food and alcohol involved so that's OK
I'd love to read your foodie blog Dinah and will totally be buying that new Hummingbird book if I can find a free delivery code for The Book People (when did their standard delivery go up to £4?) Honestly, anyone who hasn't tried the Hummingbird - if you want to impress this is the book!
Yes, we went to Santa Eulalia - absolutely lovely, one of the best holidays I've ever had. It's more expensive than the other Ibiza resorts but so much nicer - has loads in the way or nice restaurants and is less family-oriented than the likes of Es Cana (and there are no clubbers). There's a lovely little church up on the hill if you fancy a walk, a couple of beaches and the marina - so you can get boats all over. I highly recommend Formentera and Ibiza Town. Sigh, I want to go back now! Are you all booked up?
CMD I'm lost - are you back in Edinburgh now? And hate your job? It had sounded promising hadn't it?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
I'm sorry to hear that your job has been such a let down CMD, I think that you're doing the right thing by leaving, not job is worth sacrificing your mental health! Max will be much better with happy parents as you said, and it'll be better for the little bun too!
I hope that you do get the maternity pay so you don't have to stick the job out any longer.
All I can say about my job is that I'm blinkin' glad it's Friday! I have this dreadful feeling that I'm just wishing my time away though since I've been waiting for the weekend since Monday!
Dinah, I cannot believe how much you're spending on travelling! Is there really no option of getting a job closer to home? You may not get paid as much but since you spend so much on diesel anyway you're not even really seeing the benefits are you? How's NIM getting on with the OU?
Think you should def get back into the baking/cooking blogging, I love reading people's blogs! I want to start one myself (it's on my 101 things list!) but I don't really know what to blog about, it'll be everything and nothing!
On the subject of my list, one of the tasks is to watch a movie for every letter of the alphabet and I'm currently up to 6, OH said that he's downloaded a new film to watch on Sunday night (our movie night) and it begins with a V so I got excited because that's another letter to cross off my list, but there was another movie he wanted to watch beginning with a T and I didn't want to watch it because I've already watched a 'T' movie! I do believe I am losing my marbles! :rotfl:
Enjoy your eaty drinky weekend Tete, sounds very nice! I haven't got anything exciting planned, hoping the weather stays nice so I can get out a bit though!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

Boo, that's so typical when it's been beautifully sunny all week!
How's your running training going? I am very in awe at your signing up to all those challenges! I have just started going to the gym again - only 1/4 a year into 2011! - and feel better already
It's been an unusually nice week at work, now I'm just daydreaming about holidays and profiteroles...
Dinah - I think once you've found the right foundation you're right to stick with it! My OH did look confused when I put it as an essential on the budget, but it's for the best :rotfl: Sometimes it's false economy to try out new brands.LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Running training going OK - it's not getting easier but as I'm doing a bit more every session and it doesn't seem to be getting harder I take it that I'm improving!
I'm hopeless with makeup, I 'm still looking for the perfect mascara - I don't like all the lengthening, volumising ones as they look unnatural on my fair lashes, I just like a nice brown but they're hard to come by.
Argh, work continues to be a total nightmare - do these people not realise it's Friday afternoon? Large wine over here please!!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Tell me about it Tete! I've had the friday feeling for about 5 days!0

Just put a book people order in, wish I'd known I'd have ordered a second copy and dropped it off.
No we haven't booked as the hotel we wanted ran out of rooms, but today it looks like it has some available again! Only thing is its the top of our budget, and when we called about another deal the price didn't include taxes, charges, transfers etc. I may have to look into how far it is from the airport to go it on our own! Or see if the company will let us just book the room through them - I know the flight is only £68 as it's with Ryanair and I've been on their website.I'm sorry to hear that your job has been such a let down CMD, I think that you're doing the right thing by leaving, not job is worth sacrificing your mental health! Thanks for all the support to start the blog again, it's good to know it'll be read.
We've considered getting me a job closer to home, but the council put over £300 a month into my pension, and I need to consider that too, so on balance it'd have to be a similar salary to what I'm on atm to make it work out. I would love to have a shorter commute though, it's like being given the gift of time.Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »Argh, work continues to be a total nightmare - do these people not realise it's Friday afternoon? Hi Everyone
So nice to read all the chat. Tete, it's so nice to 'see' you. I am very pleased to be back in London. All our work is finished and we can have fun this weekend. Tonight we are heading out for yummy tapas. Tomorrow we're meeting up with my cousin, yay! Good times.
CMD, so sorry to hear about your job CMD. I think you're right to quit if you can, happiness is a lot more important than work.
Wendz glad to hear you are being spoiled!
Birdie, what's your 'V' film - is it V for Vendetta? I love that one!:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
