I made it as a big cake for dads 50th! Although I did one deep cake rather than 2 sandwich cakes. Moist is a mild way to describe it, it was lovely but so dense! Speaking of - thats another recipe in new Hummingbird - wonder where they got that one!!!

Ooooh looks good Dinah, thanks! Might have to give that a go, I'm sure OH wouldn't object to being cheered up! We're so excited about drinking 'real' butterbeer in Florida, we're going to Harry Potter World on our first full day there, I'm fairly sure OH will blow all of our souvenir money on HP stuff, I might have to keep a secret stash to one side just in case he decides he *needs* to be dressed head-to-toe in HP clothes with a wand and sorting hat to top it off! :rotfl:

Does anyone else work in an office where people don't chat about things other than strictly work?! I find it so odd that I know nothing about my colleagues. My old office was the complete opposite, we could spend hours chatting about everything if we were having a slow day and I knew the ins-and-outs of everyone's life... here I don't even know if my colleagues have kids or partners or dogs... nothing!

That butterbeer cake recipe looks amazing! Not sure how I feel about cream soda in a cake though Birdie, I have visions of you both ending up head to toe HP after your first day in Florida!

Not really Poddle. I'm a trainee receiving no proper training! I'm sick of feeling stupid whenever my manager asks me to do something because she doesn't tell me how to do it properly and it's all gibberish to me so I can't even work it out myself! I don't think I like her either. She seems like one of those people who's actually not very nice and a bit snappy and harsh, but laughs when she says something not very nice so as to camouflage the fact that she's being a cowbag! Oh well, in a year my shares will mature, I can get my thousands out of the scheme and I can leave!

Oh and I think it's a given that we're going to get totally Potterised in Florida! OH is gutted though as the wand shop does a special wand choosing ceremony show every 20 minutes or so and they pick out one kid from the audience to do it... he wants to be the one to be chosen but won't be because the 'stupid kids' will get first pick! I feel the same about the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Disney World... why is it just for little girls and not little girls at heart?!
