Thanks Dinah
I am just ringing Job Centre Plus now to double check that I can do this. Because we can't make ends meet if I am not entitled to maternity allowance.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

hi CMD
If you're happy with the decision - and it sounds like you made it for all the right reasons - then that's all that mattersThere's a lot to be said for being poor and happy! Are you still planning to take some time out in Ireland with your family?
I'm pretty sick of money at the moment! I feel like it's all a bit out of control, but hopefully pay day and a jolly good look at our finances will make things look more positive.
Dinah, your comment about fuel costing as much as mortgage payments and more than food really is alarming!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

I am still going to take some time out - but rather than just run off home, I am going to plan it around OH's annual leave. I have also been in contact with some other mums in the area and we are going to meet up. I think if I establish some sort of routine here it will be better than just going home. I hope to go home in May for a period of time though.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Food being half the cost of fuel per month scares me too tbh!
Have had to buy my foundation from Ireland and get it shipped as they don't seem to sell it in the UK anymore! On the plus side it was only £26 including postage from Ireland, usually it's about £42 in Boots.
Considering starting up my baking blog again, but putting cooking on it too, I feel like I've been pushing my boundaries a lot lately and I'd like to record it and hopefully inspire others to do the same.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I love profiteroles. I can never pass them on a dessert menu!
One of the nicest desserts I ever had was strawberry cheesecake with basil sorbet. It was to die for!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

MMMmmm. I made strawberry and basil something the other day (I forget what now!) NIM was completely baffled by the idea of strawberries and basil! I once had duck in a strawberry and black pepper sauce and it was amazing, no matter how many times I've tried to make it it always tastes like duck in jam.... maybe I use too many strawberries!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
