    Hi everyone,

It's my birthday yay! Have been spoilt rotton already.OH gave me boots and dress that I knew about and then also Cheryls Coles new book, a lovely snuggly hoody and a pregnancy pillow (bless him), he also got me a disney princess cake. My sister got me some lovely benefit make up from new york, yay! I also got some earrings and a necklace from my best friend who lives in Australia and some more make up from another friend.

Tasha - i use a few sites but the ones i like best are pureprofile (make sure you go on everyday to check as they don't always email the surveys) and i also quite like Panelbase and valued opinions.

I second this! :D I'm getting one for the living room, and one for the bedroom for nights when OH is working late. Silly to heat the whole house for little ol' me. Sure I read they only cost 3p an hour to run??

For the pups, we were told we could have one but I'd much rather stick to our plan of getting a rescue dog. All those pups are sure to get a fantastic home, while the dogs in shelters just need a second chance. And we can give one that! :D Just got a text from OH to say he's popped to one of his friends house because he 'wont be able to see him when we move' eh? I'm pretty sure he's just moving something-teen miles east from his town, not the other side of the world.

CMD - The groom was very romantic, I think he did a fab job :D

Aww that's nice about the dog! OH says that, but his reasons are slightly less charitable, he thinks they'll be cheaper to 'run' and will last longer because they're not purebreds... but I really want a pug, like Percy! Not a very manly dog for OH to walk around with though! ;)

That makes me laugh about your OH thinking he's moving to the other end of the earth, my friend is like that with me even though I only live 30 mins away. She never asks me to see her because she thinks its too far to travel, I went to see her on Saturday and at about 3.30 she said, 'You should be setting off now, you've got a long drive home', 'Errr... I used to travel this every day to work and back, it's not really that far!'

I enjoyed DTTB last night, that Mum was completely crackers, going on about 'our' dream dress and 'our' ideal plans, getting jealous because someone else made the bride a toilet paper wedding dress at the wedding shower! I thought my Mum was interfering, but she's a saint compared to her!

I think I'm going to have to invest in a halogen heater too, we still haven't figured out the heating (I know OH's dragging his feet to get it sorted because it's saving money!) but it's getting so cold now I can't bear it!

ETA: Happy Birthday Wendz! Sounds like you're being spoilt, and rightly so! :D
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

  • Happy birthday Wendz! Hope you have a lovely day - eat LOADS of cake to make up for not being able to have a drink! :D

I think a lot of the mums get in a bit of a mood because they don't get to be involved on that show, it's funny.

Off to have a nosey at that thread Tasha...

I just had a look at the thread, they are being a bit harsh considering what she has been through. Yours was a much more thoughtful reply Tasha.

Tete - i certainly will be eating lots of cake to make up for lack of wine hehe.

I think the posters are being a little harsh on that thread. The problem with putting your problems online is that people think they know best from just reading a couple lines, when they don't. They go on there for help, not to be attacked.

Birdie - We keep on getting offered Percy!! I'd take him but he's happy with all the other dogs, it wouldn't be fair. I'd bring my old girl with me but I don't think she'd be a good solo dog. In all fairness to your OH we've had just about zero problems with our 'scruffs' while we've had none stop ones with our pedigrees!

    And..... HAPPY BIRTHDAY WENDZ _party_
  • Yeah I think they're being quite harsh. Although they're right in what they say - it's his life - I think he's beiong quite inconsiderate of their feelings given whet happened so recently. Cinny's right in what she says there.

Aw poor Percy does no-one want him?? :( If I were a dog person and not a cat person I'd want a whippet! They're so lovely!

They are doing a thing on This Morning now about rehoming dogs, making me all emotional haha.
  • Happy Birthday Wendz!

Sounds like you are having a great day :)

Will have a look at that thread Tasha

  • Has everyone used their £5 voucher for Debenhams? I got Max a Johbn Rocha winter coat in there today for £11 as it was reduced from £21 to £16 and then got another £5 off. Am delighted with it :)

I also have an interview next week (down south) and we went to see a lovely creche today. It was lovely and I would have no hesitations putting him into it. However, we did our figures last night and a conservative estimate is that we will be at least £500 per month better off in Scotland. Quite a bit really ....

  • Wow that is a lot CMD! Good luck with the interview although if you get it it'll make your decision harder I guess! Is it a two-days-a-week job?

Not used my voucher yet, off into town soon. I've sent myself a few to different email addresses so hoping to get a few bots. I've got four birthdays in November and then it's Christmas so hoping to get a few things for £5-7 for cheap/free pressies! £11 for a winter coat isn't bad at all! :)
