Their children's books are so cheap though and they're so good for school.
Hi Dinah and friends,
Hope you don't mind me joining in - I came across your previous diary and enjoyed it - I'm delighted you've got this new one. Your determination to pay off your debts quickly is inspiring, gives me hope.
About Book People - just in case you don't know, you can earn cashback on your Book People shopping via quidco.com. At the moment, they have an offer where you can earn 15% discount on your shop if you spend £35 and also get 6% cashback on the order too. Good for Christmas shopping if you plan to spend that much.0 -
My response to her £66 is £0.50, whihc I found on my walk into work, and £.050 I made from surveys in the last 15 mins...I'm soo boned this month. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0

Wow that is quite impressive amount for food with no meat Dinah, although is for a fortnight! We usually spend about £50-£60 a week with meat etc, that is for three of us.
Well done on the money making yesterday.
I'm thinking I might copy and paste my shopping bill on here later, maybe people can tell me how to cut down.Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »Morning! The only place I can think of where I've felt they really know me is the lovely girl in Pizza Hut who always remembered that OH drinks like a camel and would bring a pitcher of coke over for us, to save her going back and forth for the refills!
Well done on the £66 Dinah, that's fab, and also on the selling of the DVDs Birdie - is that all going into your wedding pot?
I feel rubbish today, think I might have conjunctivitis - has anyone ever had it?
Yep I've had it, gooey, sticky, welded shut eyes on a morning. My response to her £66 is £0.50, whihc I found on my walk into work, and £.050 I made from surveys in the last 15 mins...I'm soo boned this month.

Hey Ladies
Nice to see all the chat again, hope the debt busting goes super quickly for everyone. I have my student loan eek that I would love to pay off.
Today I am in uni having a bit of a lazy day. There's some stuff I should be doing but I am going to put it off until.... later! On Sunday my OH comes to visit me for a week and I am so excited. We have booked a safari for 3 days, and then we are just going to hang out. I think I will take the whole week off, which is pretty naughty but what the hell.
Yesterday I went to a mobile phone spare parts shop, and the owner was making me work hard. I was trying to help all the customers not knowing where anything was, making a right ejit of myself. I made one sale though. Talk about participant observation :rotfl:
Sorry you lot are freezing, it's 25 here today :j (although looking like rain):A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Stop showing off Lara! I'm nithered! Well done for making a sale yesterday! Are you all sorted and happy accomodation-wise now? Safari sounds fab, need to see photos when your OH goes home and you've got time!
I'm sure you'll pull something out of your sleeve NIM, £1 in a day isn't too bad!
Thanks for the book people tip peaceandfreedom, I have to stay away from that site because it makes me want to spend spend spend!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Well done on the 50p NIM - finding it on the floor is better than doing a boring old survey for it!
I think my problem with food shopping is my OH - He's getting better now that he knows what things cost but one time we were making pizzas and I got value mozzarella for 50pish rather than the 90pish one and he refused to eat any of it! If it was up to me virtually everything would be value stuff because most of the time I can't tell the diff.
Boots lady said she thinks it's just dry eyes rather than anything more sinister so I've got some drops and will see how I go.
Lara you must be so excited to see your OH, I agree with Birdie - I want safari photos!
Hi PAF (do you mind if I call you PAF?) - I'm thinking of some books for CHristmas pressies so I might have a little look, thanks for the tip!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Not that we like to spend a lot on this thread or anything (ahem) but has everyone seen the £5 Debenhams voucher on the grabbit board? They email you a £5 voucher valid for another 2 weeks with no minimum spend. I've been looking on the website and there are loads of nice gifty things which you could get for free or for a couple of quid - I've got three friends' birthdays this month and also plan on getting a few Xmas pressiesWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Good find Tete! Has anyone else done the survey on Habitat website - they send you a £5 gift voucher (not sure if there's a minimum spend) which is much better than 50p and it might just about buy a nice mug
I was having a good laugh at all your whoopsie stories - why are all our OHs determined to embarrass us at any given moment?!
Mine was playing it cool and rolling his eyes when we were watching X Factor results with some friends the other day and as soon as we were in the car he turned to me and said "Wasn't it a travesty that Treyc and John were in the bottom two?" ha ha, I bet he'd been itching to participate all evening!
Hey Lara, have a wonderful safari! Where are you going? Will you get to see gorillas?! *jealous*LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

:rotfl::rotfl:My OH is exactly the same, moans about how much he hates it blah blah. So on Saturday I asked his mum to record it for me (she has virgin+ very jealous!) and I went to put a film on for me and OH. He turned and looked at me with a look of horror on his face and said "what about xfactor? We always watch it"
