You really spend that little Flower? HOW?? We can spend that on one meal!

We spend a lot of time down the 'whoopsie' isle :rotfl:
We used to spend twice that amount, but since I lost my hours at work we just cant afford to. Do alot of shopping around aswell, for instance I know that our washing powder is £1.50 cheaper in Home Bargains than Asda. We used to just get everything from Asda, but now I will go to Home Bargains on my way to work.
Is a bit annoying going to different places for different things but every spare penny really does count for us at the minute.
We eat pretty healthily for that as well.

I remember years ago my Mum telling me about the free dentist, think she was using it as an example of why it's good to get pregnant! She's an odd lady... I made OH start going to the dentist last year as I found a good NHS one down the road but he's not happy with me because he has to have fillings every time he goes now! I don't get it, he looks after his teeth better than I do (and doesn't eat loads of sugar) but I've never had a filling. Think you either have bad teeth or you don't and he's unlucky!

LOL at the Pizza Hut girl Tete! When my friend as I used to go to the cinema every Wednesday night (Orange Weds!) we'd go to Burger King a lot as we were often running short on time and we'd get served by the same guy 90% of the time who learnt my friend's order and would request it before we even got to the front of the queue because it had to be cooked to order! She was quite embarrassed by it!

My Amazon money is going into the wedding pot, it's not a lot, but every little helps!

I've had conjunctivitis a couple of times (not for a few years though) and I remember the awful feeling, I feel very sorry for you Tete! It's awful when you wake up and think you've gone blind because your eyes have fused together! Eye drops and a moist towel on your eyes work a treat! Boil wash all your towels after you've used them to kill the nasties!

I feel like I've got a general toothache in my whole mouth if that makes sense. My jaw hurts and my head and my eyes lol. I think you should go to the chemist and see what they can do, it's horrible having sore eyes.

A customer said to me on Sunday that she came to my till cuz she was watching me () and I was always smiling. Bless her. She was really sweet too - we had a big long chat about strictly. :D

I'm so impressed by your dedication Flower! If you time it right, Waitrose is so good for reduced meat. I got £160 worth of meat for £58 the other day. Will last us ages and it freezes brilliantly.

I feel sorry for your friend Birdie! I used to go into a bakery and buy a cake quite regularly. I knew it was time to stop when I went in and the woman said 'bread pudding?'. :o

My OH doesn't go to the dentist either! It so frustrates me! I made him go last year and now he'll never go again cuz he had to go to the dental hospital and have his jaw cut open to remove some teeth and sort it all out. So he thinks everytime he goes he'll have to have something major done!

We do have a joke abut it, but can be quite depressing walking round the shop and seeing loads of things we want to eat! But needs must.
Although we did have steak and chips the other night curtosy of OHs manager (because he messed up OHs wages) - it was soooo yummy :D
I can knock us a filling meal up for no more than a few pounds though.

Example is last night, not the healthiest of meals but very filling. We had sausage (reduced to 42p for a pack of 12), toast (loaf of bread reduced to 50p), tinned tomatoes (Asda Smart Price 32p i think), scambled egg (6 eggs for 63p) :D

£1.87 for that and we still have some of the sauages and bread in the freezer.

A little while ago OH was going out to his friend's house so popped into Booths (posh supermarket like Waitrose 2 minutes away from our flat) for some beer, appeared at the door a few minutes after going out with a bag full of packs of chicken breasts that had been reduced to £1 each! He just chucked it at me and left again! He does love a bargain! He once found a block of cheese reduced from £11 to £2 and he went on about it for days!

Seeing a trend for dentist shy OHs!

  • Birdie I think I may remember you mentioning the block of cheese on here actually so it must have been good!

All this talk of whoopsies has made me remember an incident in the small supermarket in our village on Saturday - I must have blocked it out of my memory!

We were queueing up waiting to pay when OH says- "Have a look through that [pile of whoopsied stuff by the till] and see if there's anything worth having", so I toddle up and have a root through and say "Nah it's only a load of midget pork pies and pork scratchings and stuff" to which he very loudly replies "Lucy - stop raking through other people's shopping!!" - I hadn't realised there was someone actually on that til as the couple were standing slightly aside, and they were watching me and nudging each other but I couldn't exactly say "Oh sorry I thought it was the Whoopsie bin [because you're buying so much of it]!" now could I? I couldn't get out of the place fast enough! What a mean boyfriend eh?

    Sorry Tete, but :rotfl::rotfl:

OH has done that before, but not quite so obviously :rotfl: Asda quite often put trolleys on reduced stuff at the end of the aisle and OH thought he had found one and started looking through it until some woman came over and told him that was her trolley.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Oh dear, what a mean OH but very funny! Last week I was in Sainsbury's with OH and accidentally (genuinely!) brushed his 'private area' when I was maneuvering around him and he loudly and repeatledly said in his spoilt posh child voice, 'Stop touching my penis!' I legged it out there...with him following still saying it!

  • Haha Birdie - that's EXACTLY the sort of thing mine would do! Oh I'm cringing! And cringing at your OH Flower, but also at the lady whose trolley it was! The perils of bargain hunting!

:rotfl::rotfl:I think what annoyed him most is that I just ran off with our trolley in the opposite direction!
