  • Morning! The only place I can think of where I've felt they really know me is the lovely girl in Pizza Hut who always remembered that OH drinks like a camel and would bring a pitcher of coke over for us, to save her going back and forth for the refills! :o

Well done on the £66 Dinah, that's fab, and also on the selling of the DVDs Birdie - is that all going into your wedding pot?

I feel rubbish today, think I might have conjunctivitis - has anyone ever had it?

That is really nice Birdie that she knows who you are. Love the pizza hut girl story Tete haha.

Tete -that sounds horrible, never had it myself but hope it doesn't last long!

I went to the dentist this morning and was free because I'm pregnant, yay. Only a MSE would get excited about that haha.
  • Dentist is free when you're pregnant? But then, is it right that there are certain things you can't have done when you're pregnant (fillings?) so you'd have to wait til you had the baby and pay anyway? Or am I being cynical there?!

I think you would have to pay for certain things but the check up and cleaning was free.I am not sure whether they can do fillings when you are pregnant?

Oh and you get it for a year after they are born too although you might have to payfor fillings?

:rotfl::rotfl:My OH would love to go there! He gets really annoyed when we got out somewhere, he specifically asks for a large coke and they come back with a piddly little glass that he could drink in one sip.

I'm actually surprised all his teeth havent fallen out with the amount of coke he drinks. Makes me so mad :rotfl: he never goes to the dentist either!

    :eek::eek:on food costs!! We spend £25 - £30 every 8 or 9 days :o

  • You get the dentist free when pregnant and until the baby is 1 so can get the fillings done then. Which reminds me, I need to get a check up. Max is nearly 8 months and I haven't availed of this yet. Might as well pack in as much as I can before he gets to 1!

That's one of the things I like about working in a supermarket - the chat with regular customers. It makes my day when I get a nice customer that is friendly! Makes such a difference.

I feel rubbish today too Tete, but haven't had conjunctivitis for years so can't really remember the details - other than gunky eyes. Hope you manage to get it sorted though! I feel really weak and my whole face hurts. I hate that, when every tooth hurts and your whole head aches.

Well done girls on the money-making/money-saving! Strange (but good!) that you get free dentist when you're pregnant, I wonder why... to keep you healthy?

ETA: Flower your food costs are amazing! We spent £50 last night and that will last us until the weekend which isn't very good really. But we did have to buy cleaning stuff as well.

Thanks for clearing that up CMD! Yes you must go and get a chek up while you still can for free.

Flower- my OH never goes to the dentist either, I do worry about him!

Zig -it is free because the pregnancy hormones can make you have more problems with your teeth. You are more likely to get bleeding gums and for teeth to fall out!

Have you got toothache Zig? Worst thing ever :( Hope you feel better soon. My eyes aren't gunky, just really really dry and bloodshot, I look horrible!

I know what you mean about one nice customer can make your day. I've worked in loads of shops and it's so true! There's one shop assistant in Tesco who I've gone to a few times and she'll be chatting away to the person in front of me, and when it's my turn I'm like "Hello!" with a big smile and she barely says a word to me! Maybe she doesn't like the look of me, me and my red eyes!

You really spend that little Flower? HOW?? We can spend that on one meal!

EDIT - yeah I'd heard pregnant ladies are more prone to nosebleeds Wendz, as a way of getting rid of blood in the body that would normally flush out each month?

The last time my OH went is about 3 years ago and he only went because I booked him the appointment and dragged him there because he had been having really bad toothache for weeks. He had been taking 10+ paracetamol a day rather than go to the dentist  for a big guy hes such a big scaredy cat!
