Nope opinions welcome, I don't want to pay out for something people don't want to see!

The Italian dream sounds brilliant. We have a Spanish one; I think it is good to have a dream like that, esp if you can make it come through!
I prefer carpet in the bedroom. I agree with Wendz, I think it makes the room warmer. However, I think wooden floors show up better in photos and give the place a more modern, fresh feel about the place. It's amazing what a furry rug can do too - can give the best of both worlds. So in answer to your question - if I was doing it up to keep for myself I would put carpets down, if I was doing it up to sell I would put wooden floors down. Hope it makes sense!
Wendz - the babyshow is excellent isn't it? We got our pram there and we saved about £120 on it so were thrilled. It is hard to resist all the gimmicky things there too. I am a sucker for anything cute I also got my tens machine there. Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947 I also got my tens machine there. I agree with CMD atually it would look nice when people are looking to buy the house.
Yes it was really good. Saved a lot of money so was worth going!0

I have to agree, I would like carpet but to sell I would go for wood with a lovely rug - guess it depends on the quality of the carpets and how they look etc...?0

They look like what they are - very average carpet! Also the master bedroom one has managed to get a bit mucky. I hadn't thought of rugs on the wood, good planDebt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

If that is the case sounds like the wooden flooring might look nicer and the rugs will make it feel warmer.0

I prefer carpets too. But, to go with the theory of wood floor for selling there is a house around the corner I love. And I mainly love it because it has hardwood flooring, and if I sit here now and picture it with carpets I kind of love it less. Odd! I don't like these mind games
I like the sound of your house dreams! But I know I could never do that. Me and Rich got sick of doing this place up, and all it needed was a scrub, lick of paint and some carpets. We're pretty light weight, Dulux and Ikea type of DIY-ers Glad everything is coming together at home for you though, hopefully it wont be long until it's all done and ready to sell! 0 Glad everything is coming together at home for you though, hopefully it wont be long until it's all done and ready to sell! 0

Does the one you love have wood throughout or just lounge/kitchen?
I think it confuses the matter that bedrooms are downstairs, maybe we should keep them as carpet to make sure people don't think '3 reception rooms to 2 bedrooms is a bit odd'!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I reckon you should keep them carpet too. Our bedroom has sanded and varnished floorboards but I'd love something warmer underfoot. You could always hire a carpet cleaner, they're so good.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0
