Still not came down off the high horse i see..............:rotfl:you're coming across as confrontational now tbh. No one has ever once said they were there, but your posts certainly havent helped you be seen as reasonable/understanding etc.

I'm very sorry that people have disagreed with you and let you know what your "rights" are (bearing in mind this is a consumer rights board) and that you view that as being unhelpful because its not what you wanted to hear.

Perhaps ask to have your post moved to the praise/vents board?

And although you have been rather sarky.......there is something you could possibly try IF you paid by credit/debit card. Tell them you lost the receipt and ask them if a bank statement would suffice. If the amounts are the same, they MAY be willing to do this (but please dont misunderstand this as your legal right - again you would be relying on their goodwill so you may be better dealing with another staff member than your previous visit).

  • Yes I want and do expect good customer service - what on earth is wrong with that?? Some people are so lazy they'll sit back and criticise others attempts to improve consumer rights and then take full advantage themselves when something happens to them. Such hypocrisy.

And I did try it on in the shop - I also tried it on again at home and it didn't seem right! That is a normal thing to do...

..and your trying it on here too! So it was right in the shop and not at home? Did you visit a McD's on the road home (or any other fast food outlet)?
  • unholyangel - I feel that you and others are bullying me!

I came on this forum in good faith expecting some genuine help and assistance, but have been subjected to snide inneuendo and sarky remarks.

And how exactly do I come across as being unreasonable? Do I swear? Am I irrational? I think not.

I have a receipt for the size 10, but is the "wrong receipt" according to RI. I did ask about bank statements but I was told that there would not have been that sort of transaction when I made the exchange.
  • Gordikin - that is a very unhelpful remark. No I didn't go to a fast food outlet. I am a healthy size 10 - not fat!
  • MM - People have given you advice but you do not appear prepared to accept the advice given because it is not what you want to hear.

If you had the receipt and the tags were still on you would have no right to a refund/exchange.

The fact is that you did not have a receipt. You state that you didn't realise that you needed both. Did you really not realise that you would need the receipt for the item that you were actually returning and not for a different one?

I'm sorry but you have no rights here and I would fully expect RI to have a policy refusing to give refunds without receipts/tags.

There is only one hypocrite around here !

You ramble on about "consumer rights" - it may surprise you that the retailer has "rights" too - and he was exercising his quite correctly and lawfully in what he did.

The bottom line is that you are WRONG ! just give it a rest !!

Yet another example of how you're so nice and polite and not confrontational in the slightest? I really dont think you're doing yourself any favours here.

I'm bullying you? :rotfl: Even though you come across as a uppity, snide, rude, "know-it-all" petulant child, i have tried to give you advice. As have others. As i said, you're choosing not to listen because it's not what you want to hear! Would you prefer us to lie to you and tell you "Yes, you're totally in the right and its against the law (not to mention the secret EU directives) for them not to give you a refund"?

And i was asking about the bank statement because if it doesnt have the size on your bank statement (which i highly doubt it will), why not keep quiet about the exchange and pretend its the original item? Not something i'd do personally but hey, i only expect shops to follow the law. Anything additional they do for me i'm thankful for.

But like i said that would require different staff. If they felt the need to call security, i highly doubt they've forgotten you or your circumstances.

Err it was a joke/a laugh get over it! 12-14-16 whatever...can be healthy.
  • Arrghh its computer says no!!! Yes maybe I accept that I don't have a "right", but generally speaking the high street stores do or did give out refunds if you return it within 28 days with a receipt - I do have a receipt but it's not enough I need the exchange receipt too. It never occurred to me that the original receipt wouldn't be enough and I didn't expect a branch manager to give me a load of **** for having the termerity to ask for a refund. Lesson learned - I'm not shopping there anymore.

Seriously guys. You have been on here too much and too long. Have a break there is a world out there you know. I'm going back to the real world.
