Everyone assumes that muffinmaker was rude in the store, this is not the impression I got.

But whatever peoples opinions are on this matter there's no need to bully people when they come here for advice.

It looks like she's getting a refund and it doesn't matter if it's a so called good will gesture or whatever, as long as she gets it

Bullied? Certainly didn't see any of that, what did stick out for me on this thread was sweeping generalisations and bigotry, all coming from the OP.

Not my opinion - just a statement of fact.

The problem there is this is the real world and more often than not stores and people don't follow the rules of SOGA they use a little discretion and common sense.

That may well be the case but has nothing to do with your incorrect statement.

It wasn't an incorrect statement because the OP had the original receipt and as you know all she needed was proof of purchase, which I'm sure the manager could have found if she wanted to.

She was not "entitled" to a refund.

    So you are still wrong.

So are you saying that Santa really exists.
  • Would anyone who still thinks that Muffinmaker was legally entitled to a refund please post a link to any law, legislation, consumer advice website, trading standards or consumer direct showing proof of this entitlement.

One little link is all that is required to back up their statement.
Stating something is easy. Backing it up with proof is not always so easy.

Or how about a link to say she's not, remember these facts though:

She did have the original receipt
She was not given a new one with the exchange.
The manager didn't try very hard to go through the records of returns.
