When we go to our local Indian restaurant for a meal I regularly have the Salmon and it is wonderful! I suggest you give it a try - clearly curried fish isn't to everyone's taste, but the fact that you have thought of it at all means you will probably love it!

Grr can't find it online but I do a delicious curried salmon pasta, if you haven't already used the salmon!
Fry onion in butter and curry powder, add milk, flour, corriander, paprika, part cooked pasta, grilled red peppers and simmer for ~15 mins(stir lots, it won't be completely covered in milk, ~150ml for 2 portions), add cooked flaked salmon and asaparagus and heat very low for 5-10 mins. It works well with any sort of peppers or veg, even just more onion and some cherry toms and sweetcorn!
It's not the most well explained recipe but you get the jist of it.

Has anyone got any idea whether salmon curry would taste ok?

I cooked salmon fillets (found in the freezer, bought on BOGOF ages ago!) last night for dinner but when hubby got home from volunteering I found out he'd been fed there.

The meal plan for tonight is vegetable curry - can I add the pan fried salmon to this or will it taste really weird?

    Any ideas gratefully appreciated!
A former flatmate of mine used to poach a fish then add it to a vegetable curry so I dont see why pan-fried would be any different.
  • Fish curries are lovely! Have rubbed salmon with tandoori paste before grilling/barbequeing also and would recommend that (although bit cold to light the BBQ at the moment...)
  • Thanks for all the replies!

In the end I wasn't happy with the veg that we had (shopping day today so it was a bit light in the bottom of the fridge!) so I made fishcakes instead with the potatoes that were left. :)

I might have to buy some more salmon to try some of these ideas though!
  • I've never made salmon curry but do like salmon served on the side of a plate of vegetable curry.

Salmon curry works great. I cut the salmon into large chunks and put them into the sauce for about four minutes and they were cooked through and tasted delicious. Also the salmon had really flavoured the curry by time it came to clearing up the leftovers. (surprising as I think salmon has a mild flavour.) Some great recipes on here to try, though.
