I am currently looking at this agency after most of my 'local' agents have been a disgrace.
Its a shame that this thread has descended into arguing and babble - has anyone used them and actually offer their experiences?
As for the awards:-

OK, that's one award - but you and they mention 'awards' (in the plural)
Personally, I think it's a disgrace that iSold post here to promote their business with unsubstantiated claims... but there ya go. If calling them out on this is 'babble', then so be it.0 -
why is this all so personal? is the OP an isold person? or did bristol come on and answer a few concerns?!
ANYWAY THAT DOESNT REALLY MATTER
OP:-
"Has anyone tried Tesco's iSold??
Just wondering if anyone had sold their house through iSold. I notice the fees are only £999 inc vat and I need to save as much as I can on fees really".
CAN ANYONE ANSWER THE OP WITH FACTUAL, PERSONAL EXPERIENCE? something I would like to knowPLAY GOOD!

I sold my house in Hackney in a matter of days through isold.com. Admittedly I've yet to complete, but it looks like it'll all go through without a hitch.
I think it's more expensive now than when this thread started - I've gone for the £1,499 package, where you show prospective buyers round yourself. For an additional £500 you can get the full service. As a sweetener there are clubcard points (5000?) upon completion, but this obviously wasn't a primary concern.
From what I understand, isold/spicerhaart's agents aren't on a percentage commission for their sales (I might stand corrected on this), and as a result don't seem afflicted with the wretched desperation that characterises our idea of estate agents. Whenever I've dealt with them they've been straightforward and to the point, and I'm fairly confident I haven't been messed about.
You're given a fair bit of autonomy over the photos used to advertise, as well as with the blurb - they took some pretty good pictures, but weren't adverse to including a couple of my own.
Through their website you can see how many people have downloaded your brochure, viewed your page, viewed your house and also keeps you up to date with sales progress. They've been quite slack at updating the latter two, but the London office is still quite a small operation, so I've been fairly forgiving. Visibility is good, and in addition to the isold.com site, you're listed with globrix, trovit, rightmove and findaproperty.
Another advantage is you don't need to put a board up outside, (I have tenants, and this would have speeded up their departure no end) and opting out doesn't increase the agency fees in any way.
My house is now selling for around 450k, and I was unwilling to lose 10 grand out of it for services I could perfectly well provide on my own. This would have been particularly galling as I've renovated the place myself, and can comment on every tiny detail.
So thus far I can only speak highly of isold.com. I will add that my house is particularly saleable, and in quite an in-demand area of London, at a time when lots of people are buying family homes. So it's evidently not all down to them. But for a very reasonable price, they've handled the things I can't do - namely advertising and negotiation - and made the process relatively simple and completely stress-free.
N.B. I know this is my first post, and that I'll be under suspicion as a result. But I have no vested interest in isold getting good press, other than in my belief that there should be a massive correction in standard estate agency fees - if it takes pressure from online agents to make it happen, then so be it.0 -
Since London is the exception rather than the rule in the current market, a single London sale - especially at £450,000, almost double the countrywide average, isn't very representative.............
and in response to Mancunian - no, I have no personal experience with them - very few people will have, judging by the numbers on their site - and it's not personal. I have no axe to grind, other than looking to burst their bubble when they spout what may be false or over-inflated claims on a forum like this.0 -
Ahh didn't realise iSold is Tesco's. I went to view a property around Leeds few weeks ago, the agent never informed the Vendor about our viewing. I didn't like the property from outside anyway so I never called them again. iSold guys never called me back checking how the viewing went etc. etc. like other EAs.Nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. - Alex Supertramp0
