Has anyone tried Tesco's iSold??

Just wondering if anyone had sold their house through iSold. I notice the fees are only £999 inc vat and I need to save as much as I can on fees really.

iSold? I'd be amazed if they manage to keep that name - Apple seem to think they have exclusive global rights to the letter "i" ;-)

They launched a while ago in Bristol, and all their business seems to be concentrated there.

Do you live anywhere near Bristol? There's a postcode checker on their site, and it tells me they're not currently selling in my area. Try yours and see.

Edit: Launched around March of this year, see post 22 of this thread; https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2289041

Another edit; http://www.isold.com/Search shows their operational areas.

There's a few listings, but as the OP says - has anyone Sold through them?

Their Graduate Recruitment package suggests "no experience is necessary in Estate Agency" ..... so that tells you something about who you'll be dealing with.....

    http://www.isold.com/Content/Resources/PDFs/Graduates.pdf

...and despite what the map suggests, they appear to be still lacking 'valuation managers' in

    York
    Reading
    Portsmouth
    Southampton
    Bournemouth
    London
    Leeds
    Manchester
    Newcastle

(most of the highlighted areas on the map, in other words!)

But you get 5000 clubcard points if they do sell your house. That seems to be the main selling point, apart from the fixed fees.

Do Tesco act as a proper estate agent, or are they simply acting as an online sales site?.

Should I be disappointed not to get clubcard points? ;-)
  • judging by the number of houses on their site (and the fact I've not really heard of them) I doubt they get the traffic to even justify the £999

PoppySarah, they do currently have an offer for 5000 CC Points if you sell your house with them.

We are currently with iSold and will be ending our contract with them as we are unhappy with the "service" they provide.

We signed up with them about 6 weeks ago, still no "for sale" sign outside the house, no advert in the paper (as was promised). Floor plan inaccurate, a lengthy process to get the property details verified and listed.

They don't stick to what they say - the website says one thing but the "valuations manager" when he comes to visit says something different.

Poor communication - they don't answer the phones, so how many potential buyers has that put off?

They send round viewers who either can't afford the property or aren't "proceedable" - we had one viewer who liked the house but wanted us to take ours off the market until they had sold theirs. No way, we say and then iSold get upset with us.

iSold definitely are not on the side of the buyers; they put extreme pressure on us to accept an offer that we felt was far too low from some FTBs.

They have an online system for viewings and details of offers that they don't actually use. Not helpful.

You end up dealing with several different people in the office which is a pain as they don't bother speaking to each other to find out what's going on.

We got so fed up with the inability of iSold to organise a "for sale" sign that we put our own up and have had as much interest from our own sign as iSold have put through.

Although cheap, I couldn't recommend them. We've done better with our own sign and that cost a massive £7.50!!!!!

Can we ask which package you opted for, how much you paid upfront?

Will you be asking for a refund?
