No it doesnt matter, if it IS a double room youve booked....I always book for 2 adults and 1 child, even though theres never a child.....that way you get a room with sofa bed instead of a (sometimes) single chair...and avoids getting a smaller room..

That will explain why I had so much trouble finding a family room if there's more people like you around.

Quite possibly........or the fact you tried too late.....
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

We always book a family room, even if its only me and DF intending to stay, just in case my mum gets ill and cant have the kids, that way we can still go away we just have to re-think what we were going to do.

If you want the best rooms you have to get in there early, you cant rock up hours later and expect a room to be there waiting for you to buy it, 1st come 1st served, I stayed up all night refreshing all night as i know these sales usually start earlier than advertised.

This offer is a fraud. All the £9 rooms shown on the overview pages turn out to be at least £15 when you select any of them - this was true yesterday evening and today.
You cannot contact anybody at Travelodge to correct it or book.

I can assure you there were rooms for £9 when I was on there at 3.30am the morning the sale launched - they just sold out very quickly :( and the price steadily gets more as the cheaper rooms get taken. Unfortunately you have to be quick with these :)

It doesn't seem very fair to say it starts at 6 am, showing a big countdown and everything, and then it starts 2 1/2 hours early????

Having said that, I did get up at 5am last time and got several £9 family rooms.

Sorry, but a family can sometimes just be two people (mum and daughter eg?) who just don't want to sleep in the same bed. If you only book a double, you have to.

Maye Travelodge should take note and put more family rooms in the hotels, in the first place.

Another thing to watch is their delightful 10p-per-minute phone charge, when you have to ring them for any reason! :eek:There's no alternative number I could find

(I had some rooms booked at an Innkeepers lodge which has now become a Travelodge, and needed to cancel them. Unfortunately because they weren't on my travelodge account, I couldn't cancel them online and had to ring them ARGGGHH)

Its very close to Linton zoo, which would be ideal for children your age.
And of course the Linton Travel tavern,as stayed in by Alan Partridge.

Avoid Newcastle. I stayed for free, effectively, as they gave me a refund it was so horrible. I'd rather have that night of my life back again and spend it and £50 on something pleasant and safe.

I would say the word 'fraud' is a bit strong. But it is imo dodgy that they still advertise certain dates as £9 but when you click through the price is higher. I am sure they have a good enough IT/stock control system to change the price when all the £9 rooms are gone, it just looks better to still show lots of cheap rooms available. Plus, people may think 'I'll book it anyway' even though it's £22 instead of £9.

I have had dozens of bargain TL rooms and wasn't really looking to book this time, I just think that you didn't seem to get this problem a few years ago - I can only think it is a deliberate ploy on TL's part to generate continued interest in the site.

As for the state of some TL rooms, we have always been fairly lucky, but there are some horror stories on the Vent board and other review sites. It can be hit and miss at times, certainly they are not all cleaned and maintained to the same standard.

I always phone in the morning to confirm that we will definitely be arriving after I heard complaints that they sell your room to someone else if you arrive late in the evening.
