The quintessental George Best story has him laying in his underwear on the massive bed in a top London hotel. On the bed are strewn fivers and tenners (this was the 1960s remember) and empty champagne bottles. Georgie is a little worse for wear, but with him is the naked form of the current Miss UK.

The room service comes into the room with a new bottle and looks dismayed at what he says.

"Oh Georgie, Georgie, Georgie," he says, shaking his head in sorrow and disappointment. "Where did it all go wrong?"

Quintessential - as in "made up story" - I guess even if it is true, it would be outnumbered 100 fold by the time he woke up covered in his own urine & excrement. Some style that.

Far from revelling in his lifestyle, he was like many alcoholics utterly self delusional.

He was a thief, a wife beater, a drink driver and assaulted police. He

Rooney will leave Manure in January is my guess.

The soap opera of recent weeks has been orhestrated to maximise the transfer fee.

If Rooney stays, Ferguson will probably call it a day.

    GG

He won't be going in January, the summer not out of the question though.

I find it rather odd that so much vitriol is thrown at a working class bloke who gets paid very well to play football for living. Jealousy I suspect.

Although the celebrity-obsession does annoy me a bit, but that's not his fault.

totally agree its just jealousy no one would turn down the money if offered. Good luck to him.
