    Well, as i say: for subsequent usage I'd opt for Avast (free) + Windows Defender (free); if u need the added benefit of MBAM, then go for it -- 'only' £17. :cool:

    Can you try and get combofix to run ? - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/combofix
    Put it on desktop then run it -if you can't then try and run it from usb drive.

    Ok, I'll try this but if I can't get it to work I've told him he needs to take it somewhere as I'm supposed to be at work lol

    Stop wasting your time, just back up his music files and then run a Factory Restore. A 30 minute job is just being dragged out by spurious posts.

    Definitely the situation has not been helped by that idiot posting her head off in a desperate bid to try to look helpful after her frankly ridiculous behaviour.

    So I'll leave this thread to her and go on to help someone else.
