An awful lot of unwanted bedding

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/cosynights/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340

You'd think that they'd stay away from bedding shops, if they keep buying all these unwanted items wouldn't you.

  • The fact they are selling bedding and have a user name like they do would suggest they are a business. Un registered at that!

The stupid thing is this seller would probably do better as a business seller as they could easily be paying less fees and get better exposure in best match. I'm not sure what they are achieving by registering as a private seller?

I guess they don't want to pay tax, accept returns etc.
  • so many of these type of sellers on ebay, they give the proper biz sellers a bad name as they are usually the ones who refuse returns etc and they don't have to comply to dsr's or keep books for the tax man.

You can't refuse a return, business or private. And you have no idea whether they are keeping books or not, though probably not. Eight good feedback scores in a short time makes them a decent "type" of seller.
Leave it to the tax office to deal with.

The tax office should probably be made aware, and it is an offence under the Unfair Trading Act 2008 not to declare yourself as a business - this is largely policed by Trading Standards, so find their location and report them to their local TS office. Anyone who is doing this should make sure they are compliant both with tax law and with consumer law: it's not an excuse for them to say "well, they may well be registered with HMRC" - it's not enough any more.

Please leave HMRC out of it. And Trading Standards. The seller is probably only breaking ebay rules.
As discussed before, they have three months to inform HMRC. Trading Standards would only be involved if they broke the regulations. You do not need to "declare" yourself to them either, there's no mechanism to do so.

They look like a private seller to me.

One listing states where and at what price the items were brought for.

They are selling a mattress and some bedding this is typical of a private seller as a [EDIT bedding] business would tend to sell one or the other.

The name is not one a [EDIT bedding] business would pick as it looks like is a [EDIT bedding] brand name.

A tongue in cheek post surely?
