Painfully slow

Is it just me or is there a major problem accessing this forum at the moment? I know the server was changed the other day but it's gone from bad to worse at this end

I couldn't access it at all yesterday as none of the pages would load up and it would just hang. Today it has taken almost half an hour just to navigate to this part of the forum and open a new thread to post. I've no idea how long it will take to get this post sent as it's still trying to load some sections while I'm typing. It's now 09:52 so it will be interesting to see what time (if) it reaches the forum

but today has been fine, going just as quickly as it was, touch wood

It's not just you Curry_Queen. I've tried to reply to this for about 8 or 9 minutes and subscribed to it instead (just in case). It wizzed through the subscription process for some reason ? but it was the same yesterday.

If you're reading this by e-mail, as I did on topics I'd subscribed to, it took about 17 minutes for your post to appear.

What I can't understand is: when I refresh or go to 'new posts' it tells me it's taken 0.10 seconds or less, when in fact it's anything up to 10 minutes.

Maybe it's just a glitch, because it did speed up yesterday evening about 9 ish, but most of yesterdays viewing was a blank. It couldn't find the server at all. It's not timing out as it used to, it just won't connect to this site.

If webby or anyone's reading is there anything we can do? I'm only asking in case the same thing keeps happening and whether anyone needs to know. Plus if I can't get back on, I might be able to read the reply by e-mail alerts

Well, since I first posted it's taken me all this time to get back on here to read any replies


It's not my ISP Jason as I'm not having any problems anywhere else on the net, only this forum.

Thanks Sofa, I didn't think about subscribing to get replies but I think that may be a good idea until things get back to normal.

While trying to load the pages, the message bar at the bottom of my browser (Firefox) says "transferring data from forums" and then often I get a message coming up saying "page contains no data" ... not sure if that's of any significance to any techies out there.

I've only been subscribed to this forum a couple of weeks but I'm already having withdrawal symptoms from not being able to access it ... not to mention all the offers I might be missing out on

I couldn't access this site at all this morning despite trying many times between 8.30 & 12.00. Now it loaded straight away! Hope it's sorted soon.:)

I'm having the same probs as Sofa_S and Curry_Q at the moment...

Couldn't get in at all yesterday...pages just hung all the time...today not much better...was amazed to get this far....(but will I get any further tho!!!!)

No probs with any other activities or sites...
No idea why but have found disabling pop-up stopper helps a little..(Not much tho!)

Grrrrrrrr to robnye lol. Reading that by e-mail whilst not being able to get on the site's a bit like a kid with no money standing outside of a sweet shop

I managed one post since the one to this topic Curry_Queen and just got back on myself.

And for C_Q can you post any bargains in here please? At least if the mail alerts are on she can read about them lol.

Seriously, does anyone think I should mail webmaster? Or if Webby can read this topic, can he reply in it please? I'm sure I'm not missed , but if one of the experts can't get on I think those waiting for advice might have a long wait today.

I'm not whinging by the way, because I'm catching up on some paperwork, just trying to explain what's wrong (for some people) on the forum today. It'll probably start whizzing through again later? The page just won't load up. Gets half way with those green segment things and sticks there. (Just amending this - it's loading up more than three quarters and just hanging now but hit the stop button and reply box appeared).

Any suggestions? Is it a dial-up problem? I've rebooted and all that palaver.
