It really does to be fair. My house is concrete cast so also a nightmare to keep warm. Someone once told me it's more energy efficient to keep your heating on the lowest setting constantly to stop your house getting cold in the winter rather than whack it up when it does get cold - not sure if it's true though....

Hi becs not been on the boards for a couple of weeks due to work and a dodgy computer. How long till you go on your hols. As for the electric monitor lets know how you get on, fancy one of these myself. When i've read about them people who have them would'nt be without them, think they can get addictive. It's amazing how much energy items can use, especially kettles and believe you even use electricity when you leave a plug in a socket even if the appliance is'nt switched on.

Since having cavity wall insulated and loft insulated my house is lovely and warm and is heated by gas, but i would be interested to see where i am wasting electricty.

I wouldn't mind having one either, I will defo check to see if my supplier (SWALEC) give them out free but if not £35 may be a small investment to save money.

    Morning all :)

We did check for a free one but the tariff worked out more expensive so not as free as it first sounds if that makes sense, so worth checking.

We're not paying off arrears so definitely shouldn't be so high. Being in an all electric flat is never great for bills but £150 is definitely way too high.

Over the weekend I read the manuals for the heaters (should have done that sooner! :o) and we haven't been using them in the best way. We thought that by turning them off we were saving money but turns out having them low and then just turning them up is supposed to be better. I've always been nagging the OH not to leave his computer on and not to always fill the kettle but he hasn't listened so hoping the monitor will show him I'm right!

Worked in the pub on Saturday and club on Sunday so some pennies to pay into the bank, will probably wait till tomorrow when I'll have my cleaning money from tonight to pay in as well.

Not sure I'm going to meet my payment targets for this month, as I'm going to have to start shopping for some bits for Borneo soon (33 days, eep!) and also get my hair cut, but I will do my best to manage it if I can. :)

Ooo, and I did find my passport Jody!

Hoped during my passport's absence that the photo might have changed from resembling a dying frog but no such luck.

Got my ID card for Borneo in the post on Saturday along with the details of the orangutan they have adopted me as part of my donation, will be nice to actually be able to see her when I get there. Her name is Michelle, unusual for an orangutan I thought! :D
