I know a couple of people that worked in stables, but had to give up because the money is so poor.

That's great Beccie - and all the more reason to stick to your plan. How lovely to have an end goal that will fulfil your longterm desires. I just want to be debt free so I can save and save and save and then sit in a corner counting money... :-)0

Probably will be some (ok lots of) arguing while we try to settle on stuff but likely South America, South East Asia and India.
Proper back-packing, buses and cheap places to stay type travelling I hope.Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -

No payments from me today
Spent £35 yesterday ordering an energy monitor from Amazon... we had our electric bill through the other day and it's working out on average of £150 a month! Never had electric bills that high! Although in this flat it's OH paying the bills I don't want him paying out that much (don't think he wants to either!) so that's my contribution as it were.
Think it was worthwhile buying (so long as it lives up to the reviews) and I did buy it from the cheapest place but will take a few days now to build up some spare cash again.Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Morning Bec's
Sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate! £150 is ridiculous, my OH pays all the bills so I have no idea what ours is.LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Hi Beccie!
Wow, I can't believe how soon it is that you go to Borneo, seems like only a few weeks ago it was over 100 days!
That electric bill is horrendous, in our last flat where we only had electric, our monthly DD was only £64. If you're on Economy 7 tarriff, make sure to use electric for washing machine etc during the off-peak times if you can.
Hoping to stay up to date nowLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
DID YOU FIND YOUR PASSPORT!?!?!?!?!?!?
You made me worry so much that I had to go and find mine! I seem to have a spare one as well, oops :rotfl:. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all do the jobs we love and not worry about money? I keep wondering what I am going to do when I get sick of working here. Underwater photgraphy is def something I would like to do more of but I doubt I could make any sort of living from it and especially not in the UK
Very happily married on 10th April 2013

A spare passport Jody? The mind boggles! Are you an identity thief? Or perhaps a cunning trickster with different identities for your various criminal activities? OK, so my mind is clearly overactive, that's what Friday's do to a girl.
Beccie - what's an energy monitor, and how does it work? £150 sounds extortionate though - are you paying off arrears or something? I was paying £49 in the flat and arrears were accruing (of course i didnt know as it was just DD so I didnt look at it) and so they hiked it to £89 without warning! It then went back down to £69 when they cleared, but now I've moved suppliers and their estimate is £58 per month, and that's in a big 3 bed duplex apartment in a listed building with 20 feet metal crindle windows (for which read draughty!)0 -
