No. no one can recommend one to you, it depends on signal strength, local interference and your transmitter.

I can however say do not buy one from any nationwide DIY stores, donot buy a gold one. Good brands are antiference and triax.

All mounting hardware should be aluminium or fully galvanised not painted cable should be wf100.

And you should not go on your roof without correct safety gear.

Then buy one from some where with a good returns policy as it probably wont work, unless you have a very high signal strength in your house.

And do not buy one that says it is a "digital" aerial as there is no such thing.

Indeed, digital reception generally requires a rooftop aerial. Might have been a good idea to check that before shelling out for a new TV...
You might get lucky with an indoor one, but the odds are that you won't.

As macman and Kurtis_Blue state you need to be in a very strong signal area for an indoor aerial to work.

You might be lucky and be in an area where an indoor aerial will do the job.

I bought a little freeview box and set-top aerial from Asda a while ago. I wanted it to use at school to record schools TV overnight at work and got a pretty good reception.
I would suggest trying the supermarkets first because you can return them if no joy.

How far away are your parents? You really can't make that assumption, if your house is at the bottom of a hill or behind a tower block the you will probably not get a decent digital signal off an internal aerial. It also depends on the tuner.
I suggest you borrow theirs and try it first.

    Hello

Sorry but i can't find the answer elsewhere!

We have sky at the moment but I want to set up freeview in my room upstairs (don't want multiroom).

Problem is there is no external aerial. Can I set up freeview with a normal internal aeriel and if so which would be the best one? and how would i do it?

    Hope someone can confirm.

    Cheers.
