Of course the only problem then is the buyer can turn around and say they didn't receive the item :/
Well, if they say that, then you've got to sort it out. Trusting people is part of online service. Sometimes recorded items go missing or don't track, so it's not a failsafe.

Shouldn't happen that often either. If it does then you've got to look at how you address things as well.

Yes I rather feel that one of the people responding actually accidentally admitted the truth of it.

If that was aimed at me, I didn't ACCIDENTALLY admit it. I am an honest seller. I tell people what my P&P charges actually cover. They obviously don't have a problem, otherwise I wouldn't sell anything! Let me ask what would happen if the shoe was on the other foot??? Are you honestly saying that you wouldn't charge extra on the P&P fees to cover the charges?? I would have no problem paying that little bit extra, even more if the price was already a bargain! As long as it wasn't over the top. Like £20 for an item that sold for £2.

And please, no more digs at me. I have expressed my honest opinion and told you how I work on Ebay. As you said, if you don't like it, then don't buy from me! It's not as if any of my items get anywhere near the RRP of what shops would sell them for, and yes, most of them are brand new items! So I am really not that bothered if I lose a few potential buyers, especially when there are millions more out there. As I said before 600+ positive feedback, mostly as a seller, can't go wrong! :D

Then we are back to the argument that if you believe every buyer on ebay is a liar and a thief then selling on ebay is not the thing for you.

No, I don't believe that, but in my early days, when I sent items by normal post, I had a few say they didn't receive them. So then I switched to recorded, so I was covered.

I know recorded delivery items go missing. I had one a few weeks back. Postman just pushed it through my letterbox. Good job I'm honest, otherwise I could have claimed on that and the seller would have to give me a refund. Ok, so they would have been covered aswell, but trying to make a point.

I feel safer when I send things recorded. Again, if you don't like, don't buy!

AS a seller on ebay I really welcome all my competitors using recorded as it makes my postage look so much better than yours and of course as buyers buy on price (as per your own argument) you are effectively paying all those 74ps yourself out of profit.

I send approx 120 items a month adding recorded to that lot would cost me £88.80 and I prefer to keep that money myself rather than give it to the Post office for not benefit at all. In 2009 I did not have a single loss so saved myself over £1000.
Have you considered that as you fee gouge you make yourself look like you are happy to break a few silly little rules here and there, and you attract the sort of buyer that is happy to do the same? Otherwise it seems odd that you get enormous amounts of dishonest buyers when the rest of us don't.

Again, if you don't like, don't buy!

If you say that too much, then people just won't. You'll be stuck with your stock or old clobber. And all because you didn't trust people enough to make sure they wanted to buy from you: part of selling is enticing people in, not pushing them away. You are the only person who loses out.

I don't like. I won't buy. Where does that leave you?

So give me your usernames and I'll see if you've bought from me. And we'll see if you are, in fact, the ones that you "think" won't buy from me. I am saying no more on this matter. I made my point, gave my honest opinion, and got nothing but attacks from you. That's fine, I'll stick with the 600+ people that are very happy with my services :D

I'm not going to go giving out my username on this forum, thank you very much.

If you put your terms on your listings, though, I doubt I would have bought from you and I would take on board some of the advice given here because you sound like one of the people I would be happiest avoiding.

There is no need to post it on the forum. You could have sent it through pm. Me thinks you are worried that you have bought from me :D
And how I would laugh if you were, it would make you a hypocrite!! :D
