No swing here and she squiggles about too much in her bouncer so have stopped using it, I dont have problem waiting to shower the days am not doing anything. like I said her nap is at 10 am so not too late.Som, we've not got a shower, but I either have a bath the night before, so OH can keep an eye on madam, or I bring her little chair into the bathroom with me. Obviously it's different to a shower though, as she can still see me, and I can talk to her.
I might try her learn and groove actually, I did try the door bouncer but the door swings the wrong way. oh and maybe a more see through shower curtain might help hmmm.

Sami, loads of people do it, although my mum says it's getting slightly less common. A few years back an English tourist tried to do it and wound up with 2nd degree burns on the soles of his feet
Yeah, there are plenty of things that will kill you too, that's what puts OH off wanting to go.

:rotfl:Susan, apparently if being chased by one, you must run in a zig zag fashion!
I don't live there anymore, but it seriously is a weird and wonderful place.
(Not that there's a high likelyhood of me going there - I've only ever been abroad twice.)Big metal ones? I would need to be armour-plated! I'd love to go to Australia but the thought of it terrifies me, all those poisonous things. A friend of mine lives in Sydney and had a huntsman-spid-in-the-car incident at least once a week. I couldn't believe how relaxed she was about it.
When I went to Mississippi, we were told what the different poisonous spiders/snakes looked like. I never saw one in the month I was there but apparently they key if you're bitten is to know which one it was so that they can give you the right stuff. We were told nobody had died from them there since the seventies.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Som, I shower while Finn naps (he goes down at 9am). Perhaps move T's nap slightly earlier so you can go while she sleeps? Sorry, probably not much help - when I [STRIKE]go back to work :mad:[/STRIKE] find a [STRIKE]effin[/STRIKE] job, I'll just coordinate with DH as he's up in the mornings anyways.
OH leaves at 7.15am and has to walk the dog before he goes so would rather not make him get up any earlier. I will be starting my shifts at 10am so need to leave the house by 9am at the latest as need to get T to ILs and then to work.

Som what time does she wake up? when you're back at work would you be able to hop in the shower bfore she is up? thats what I used to do
I've just thought I should be keeping note of these Oz tips, my sis is going next year.
Delain - apparently there is a lot we can learn from Norway, 2 of the staff at Chris's nursery are going in Feb "for a study visit to compare how other childcare settings in other countries deliver outdoor play"
sounds like an excuse for a jolly to me!0 -
Som - my advice is to tough it out I am afraid. I had 1 toy (a snail that makes a noise and sings a song when you roll it along) that only got put into his cot when I went for a shower and he had to either play with that or cry...he learned that he had more fun playing with the snail than crying.
...I do not come alive in the morning until I have had a shower, I have to have one every morning (and I wash my hair too).please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
SOM My advice is to get her an older sibling to entertain her when needed.
And if I don't manage a morning shower, i'll have one before bed when either OH is here or V is in bed.
MFD I was just wondering where you were when you appeared!
I'm hungry and we have no bread. Suppose I should go shopping while i'm child free, but i'm too engrossed in the ironing.:beer:0 -
Hi Boogelly!!
How are lovely you & Isla?
I thought I'd snuck in quietly! Is there no hiding in this place
We're great thank you, Isla's just recovering from a cold and is a major snot monster but she's happy which is an improvement on the last week! She's cut a couple more teeth and I can see four more bulging which I don't think has helped at all. She's currently stood up in the travel cot pulling the Sophie mobile down, ah well she's having fun :rotfl:
I'm waiting for my Mum to get here so we can go to Ikea, meatballs for tea tonight I think
Som - we don't have a toilet in our bathroom so I just let Isla have free reign and wander around the bathroom while I shower. She now passes me thing's off the shelf and wait's for me to say 'Thank you' then nod's her approval the whole time I'm in there.
How is everyone and all the gorgeous littlies?Belly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j0
