Question, anyone here find getting in the shower a major drama? I always used to jump in when T went for her morning nap around 10am, but am wanting to get dressed earlier than this and the safest place for T I can figure is her cot but this means a screaming fit from missy moo, so it ends up being a mad dash from me which means if I want to wash my hair I have to shower once OH is home so I can take my time. I cant strap her in her bouncer and I tried sitting her on the bathroom floor with a selection of toys and this resulted in a screaming fit too. I can get on with other stuff thru the day no prob so its just this I wanna get sorted before I go back to work.
This describes our house perfectly, only I rarely manage a shower when OH is here because Edgar is worse in the evenings

I had good results when I put him in his highchair in the bathroom and brought him in with me once I'd used most of my many potions, He sometimes stops crying and plays happily in his cot (with many toys I fill it with just for such occasion)

It is a nightmare and at its worst point I hadn't had to do so many 'fringe washes' in my life :o:p

I'm  and :o there was a letter waiting for me at nursery saying the DD for the (lunch) fees hadn't gone through, right PIA because its OH's bank account so will have to dig out the details I'm sure they've made a mistake - unless OH is hiding something!

Assuming your shower is over the bath, have you tried putting her in the other end while you have your shower?

Susan, I'm from Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia. It likes to pretend it's civilised, but it's not. It's the kind of place where the newspaper front page normally has a crocodile on.
:rotfl: If I thought I might be meeting a crocodile I'd certainly be wearing shoes.

I wonder if T can sense his mummy is less stressed - last night he conked out about 7.45 and went right through til 7.15. He did have a good 200ml feed though so perhaps that helped! I've stopped bf now - he had one grizzly night last week (well he had several!) when a mummy-nom just didn't cut it and I rocked him to sleep and we've not done it since, not consciously, just not needed to. Feel kind of sad about that but I've been weaning him off bf in daytime for a couple of weeks and he seems fine with it.

kindof - lovely pics but don't fret about not buying them. I've not yet had professional pics done of T but we have so many lovely "snaps" and I bet you do to.

som - shower in our house ends up with piles of toys on the bathroom floor and that seems to work, don't think it did at first. Perhaps it helps in that I always bath T after my shower so he knows while he's on his own he gets playing in the bath afterwards.

bargain -should have posted this last night, sorry, of no use to anyone who's not around Peterborough but on Sat popped into the kiddicare store as we were in the area to see if they had any maclaren spares for the 2nd hand quest we've been given and they were clearing out their warehouse and had several travel cots full of random spare wheels, raincovers, hoods and seat covers for 10p each!!! Bit of a massive lucky dip though so don't make a massive trip! We did manage to get 3 wheels and a hood for the quest (without the fixings but dp is going to do diy magic!).

:rotfl:Susan, apparently if being chased by one, you must run in a zig zag fashion!

I don't live there anymore, but it seriously is a weird and wonderful place.

Big metal ones? I would need to be armour-plated! I'd love to go to Australia but the thought of it terrifies me, all those poisonous things. A friend of mine lives in Sydney and had a huntsman-spid-in-the-car incident at least once a week. I couldn't believe how relaxed she was about it.

bexta - I'm guessing those that didn't wear shoes were aborigines?
Never mind crocs I'd be wearing shoes in case I came across a snake or spid!!

I'm sure this'll get removed for rules breaking :p
but anyone want my son? He is driving me CRAZY I've had all of 4hrs sleep (in a very uncomfortable position!!) after he spent half the night screaming like a banshee and now he's off again...

she must have had a cozy car or something! my mate's cousin lives in sydney and comes to stay over here with her every so often and she's never seen any of the scary creepies or snakes bar in the zoo

The spiders are what puts me off Australia too to be honest! Oh and the fact that I've got no money to go anywhere anyway :rotfl:

I've always wanted to go on a big holiday round Finland and Norway, and to see the northern lights.

Apparently there is serious taxation there on everything, but they pay it because they like to have a country that works (not like here!) Imagine if a scandinavian transport system collapsed because of 'leaves on the line' or 'the wrong kind of snow' :rotfl: :rotfl:

Good to know Its not just me then! I could give the highchair a go but its huge and would mean lugging it upthe stairs, but if it works then hey I wont complain.

Som, I shower while Finn naps (he goes down at 9am). Perhaps move T's nap slightly earlier so you can go while she sleeps? Sorry, probably not much help - when I [STRIKE]go back to work :mad:[/STRIKE] find a [STRIKE]effin[/STRIKE] job, I'll just coordinate with DH as he's up in the mornings anyways.

bexta, I didn't realise you were from Oz. Angelfairy is as well, though I'm fairly certain from a different part :).
