    Hi Merfe.

Not many people around at the mo, who would know better. It's possible that it could be mastitis though, even if you are no longer BFing. It would be worth ringing your HV or Dr, as it must be pretty rubbish being in pain whilst looking after little man.

hi, just introducing myself, I had my little man just over 2 weeks ago and hoping to get some advice if possible. I was breastfeeding at first but then we were to and from the hospital as he got a mild skin infection and was slightly jaundice so they were checking his levels and it was just easier to switch it formula. Anyway my boobs engorged and then went back to normal so I thought that was all over, now today my left boob is incredibly painful, more so than when it was engorged, does anyone know what this is or what to do about it? I tried having a warm bath it didn't help and I've taken some diclofenac I had left over from the c-section but it hasn't touched the pain.

I had this for quite a while after Squeak was born (in my case the other side) and it eventually went away.

Definitely get down the docs, if nothing else they have great painkillers :p

thanks, typically the hv was here this morning but it didn't hurt till after she had left.

delain I don't want to here about it coming and going, I just want it gone lol. I've put a different bra on than I had this morning and it seems to have eased the pain a bit - at least I can move my arm now and should manage the school run at 3pm, was panicking for a minute. That or the painkillers took longer to kick in than I thought they would.

Why not just call the doctors surgery? If they're like ours the nurse has a triage list and calls you back and either offers good advice or books you in for a same-day appt with the duty doctor.

Mine was never so bad I couldn't move my arm!

Mind you I couldn't move my leg properly :rotfl:

That would be the smart thing to do wouldn't it but if I have to go down there I have to drag all the kids with me. I could move my arm it just bloody hurts if I do. Pain still there but deffinately eased somewhat so I'll just put up and hope it goes again.

thanks ethelsmum, he is gorgeous bless him but I'm getting to the stage I'd like him to be awake more during the day and less at night lol. At least I know it gets better this time round.

People bath their kids twice a day? Omg, bothered :rotfl: Keira has no routine for baths, sometimes she will have 5 a week, cause we don't have a shower and if one of us is in the bath she just strips herself off if she feels like it, and dives in. I only wash her hair about once a week, it's so shiny (not with grease :p) so it doesn't need done more than that and I don't wanna strip the oils from her lush hair.

Mel - Hope T and K get well soon, can't be nice having two poorly kids!

Hi Merfe, have you tried putting a hot flannel on it? Are there any particularly sore patches or is it just the whole thing?

Would you consider putting the baby to the breast to ease the pressure?

Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
