    cool.

I think it's to do with what type of incision was made, how many sections have been has, whether there was is cephalo-pelvic disproportion and baby's presentation in the subsequent pregnancy.

    This
    may be semi useful.

Is it about what you might do, cos a lot of that doesn't then apply IYSWIM?

    Lovely, ladybird :)

Thanks Weezl, the digest of what I'm reading is that risks for baby are roughly comparable with first pregnancies (rates of breathing difficulties slightly higher but rates of neonatal mortality lower), and risks for mother are higher - but ERCS in a second pregnancy reduces maternal risk for that pregnancy but raises it for subsequent ones.

Things that reduce likelihood of a VBAC: 41-week plus gestation, 4000kg plus baby, male baby, no epidural, high BMI, induction/augmentation, low dilatation at admission, advanced maternal age, ethnicity (non-white), previous C-section for shoulder dystocia, short maternal stature, no previous vaginal birth.

Much food for thought, thank you.

    ah right cool :)

yes I'm not sure if they've now removed the thing about the type of previous scar... is that because they are all lower quarter transverse incisions now?

I also read that presentation (breech) short inter delivery interval, fetal macrosomia, or a multiple pregnancy can be considered a reason to approach VBAC with some caution but not to rule it out.

Is any of this helpful or shall we stop there! (I love a bit of research, me!)

I crossreferenced with your first link, where macrosomia and presentation (excluding frank breech) are considered not to be contraindications, although they need to be more carefully managed. Over here multiples are almost exclusively delivered by C-section so it wouldn't apply, although if that happened to me I would be frankly terrified because of the increased risk of uterine rupture.

Hi Cutterby :) Was lurking the PGT earlier on, :grouphug: to you. It's no consolation, but I have a mother a lot like yours and a spot of distance can really help.

SS is there anything you want to tell us or you just a crazy woman like me who plans things excessively beforehand?
