Thanks for the info on weaning. My gut has always been for BLW, so I think that's where we'll go. OH will be a bit gutted, as he has fond memories of making the 'aeroplane' with his son, and sharing his baby rice.

MFD, it might be a bit unusual these days. Doesn't make it a bad thing, it's fantastic that the boys have such a good relationship.

Bexta, he could still fly a carrot/*insert vegetable of choice here* stick at her! Landing on highchair tray or in her mitt as appropriate

ETA: bought some rusks earlier (figured nice and easy to either puree or give as finger food while we're trying to see if he's ready or not and if not, i'll happily eat one with a cuppa!). We had a little more success with it than the spoon (just sooking on it but it's further in his mouth than the spoon got!) until it wound up on the floor *needs rolling eye smiley*
