DT1 - Ages ago you mentioned LO's talking. J is the same age and can only say Hiya, Dada, Mama, ta - he understands a lot but doesn't say a lot (I wonder if he's mine ). Like he takes my keys and goes to the front door, he gets his shoes and socks if I ask him and sits down to try and put them on. He mainly just kinda grunts and makes noises like mmmmmmmmm is milk and he does brum brum when he's on his car. I'm not worried but then I've not been to baby clinic since he was 6 months old and tend to get him weighed when we go to A&E

Hi Glam, speech therapist came on Thursday and we were basically told not to worry until he hits 2 years. All he can say at the moment is mummm, he does not understand the meaning of things, he loves watching and playing with toy cars but does not make brum brum noises yet. I was told to copy any noises he makes and to then say a word after him so if he goes errggg I try to make the same noise and add on dad or similar after. J is deffinatly doing more than Oscar at the moment.

Hi all, am still catching up.

In my experience (apart from DS1) boys tend to be slower than girls at talking, but then that goes right through life really. Probably wrong but just what I've seen. Don't really seem on par with them until about 10 as far as I can see in school.
