  • Morning everyone.
Tia - I hope Amber's feeling better, sounds like you've had a rough night - hope you're ok.
Tara - not too sure on your code, but sounds like good news, I hope :)
Mel - hug, A was a pain yesterday too - if she's the same again today, then roll on school tomorrow!
MDW - Congrats to Katie on passing her eyetest, and I like the idea of handing out those bags. Everyone's putting me to shame, I was only planning on giving them some sweets. I'm now thinking that some last minute spooky biscuit making with A is in order...
3 - V looks very cute with those bunches.
;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)

3, make little packages of all your remnant sweets/lollipops out of tinfoil and give Easter eggs to the kids with the best costumes ;)

Tia, hope lovely Amber is ok very soonest xxx

MDW I've not seen your biscuit cutter but :j for Katie's letters and eye test. Hope your meeting happens and goes how you want it.

I've just burned my thumb on molten cheese :rotfl: teach me to try to eat breakfast without making Miss M a chunk of what I'm eating - had to break her a corner of toast off :o

  • Morning all - sounds like there have been some rough nights out there.

I hope Amber is ok, and that Susan and Mr C feel better soon. We're off swimming and to visit the in-laws today, but not just yet. Need to change the clocks, I keep thinking I need to rush!

Thanks red...and yes roll on school;)
All I have for the trick or treaters is some bags of starburst, will just give them a handful of sweets each. We have actually agreed to take the kids trick ot treating, for the first time EVER, it will probably be the last too, I hate it and don't even know why I agreed....they must have caught me in a moment of weakness/madness) Why, oh why, did I agree!!!

I love putting ribbons in Alice's hair - most of them are mine from when I was little and at least half of mine were my mum's so they're mainly 50's/80's ribbons. Her favourite pair are the same ones that were my favourite and my mum's favourite.

I had a huge box of different ribbons when I was a child. I loved getting new ones, and had themed ones with festive designs for Christmas and I had Union Jack ribbons for Charles and Diana's wedding day (I was 6 then).

My Mam gave the ribbon box away to my cousin without asking me and I've not seen them again. I would have loved to have had them for Charlotte's hair.

Hope you and OH feel better this morning xx
Katie passed her eye test, she can match letters of the alphabet now.

Yay - well done Katie :j

In a&e Amber is being admitted to childrens hops 45 mins away. Precation as she has been very sick and not eat g or drinking.

Hope Amber is ok. Thinking of her xx

Snap! I burned my fingers on a melamine cup. Charlotte decided she wanted warm milk this morning, but I don't think melamine is supposed to go in the microwave as the cup ended up too hot to pick up :o Had to stand it in cold water until the cup cooled down. No harm done here though and hope your thumb is ok xx

Derby day today and I'm so nervous and excited about the match. Hope everyone is going to cheer for Sunderland for me. Depending on the result I'm either going to be extremely happy later or in a foul mood :o
Here I go again on my own....

Forgot to say, to those making home-made goodies to hand out to trick or treaters, I'm not so sure I would bother...it is recommended only sweets etc in wrappers are handed out, I know most people won't let their kids eat cakes/cookies that have been made as they can't be sure what has gone into it iykwim! If you google trick or treat safety or similar, you will find sites all saying similar.

  • Morning lovelies.

I hope poorly Amber is better soon Tia, but at least the can give her fluids if she is admitted.

Susan- I hope both your cough and OH's sickness are better this morning and that you all managed some sleep.

I made DH get up with H, even though he didn't get in from work till 2am and H was up at 6am! I've just got up now and let him go back to bed but I really needed the extra sleep and still feel I could sleep all day give half a chance.

I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday planned. I'll be at work till 7pm while the in-laws have H.

That's sounds like a good idea to me GISI. Glad you enjoyed the extra sleep.

Alfie woke up at 7.30 but I left him in his cot til 8. I struggle to get up before 8, I have no idea how all you do it at 5/6/7! Suppose there's not much choice really, adn saying that, I used to be up at 6.30 for work.

We have MIL arriving today, staying til Friday. SHe's going to be amazed at the change in Alfie since she last saw him! He's a lot more like a little boy now, rather than just a baby. Think she might be disappointed she can't just sit and cuddle him all week!

I haven't even thought about sweets for trick or treaters but I do have a big drawer of stuff I use for baking so will be something in there I can give out. I wouldn't give anything like cupcakes or biscuits, more because once it's been thrown into a bag with all the other stuff and carried tound it'll probably be all squashed up by the time they get it home.

My favorite school photo is of me in reception, with massively long bunches and 70's orange ribbons.

V had her first bunches this week, they were very small but very curly like proper piggy tails. I forgot the ribbons. :(

very cute - but did she keep them in? Annabel just pulls hers out :D

We never went trick or treating, we went guising. We dressed up, normlly in home made costumes as something, but not normally 'halloween' themed. I remember being bo-peep and my sister was a sheep and things like that.

My parents always escorted us, and we only went to friends houses (pre-aranged between parents) and we'd have to 'perform'. So we'd spend the week before learning a poem, or a song or a handful of jokes. The treats given out were normally apples or a couple of penny sweets.

I'm not that old either ;) But things are abit more old school in certain parts of scotland ;)

Nice to see you bck susan - sorry for poorly DH
I hope Amber gets well soon too.

LO slept until 8.30 (7.30) this morning, so I'm quite pleased. She's got some new phrases this morning.
'Annabel is snoring' (whilst hiding in my bed)
    'in one minute' and
'no banana mummy, grapes please' !!!!!

She also made my heart swell with love yesterday. She was wakening up from her lunchtime nap when I went to get her from the cot. The first thing she said when I entered the room was 'ooooh pretty mummy' :A

Hope you all have a fun sunday x
