Caz, that is ridiculous! We were taken straight through to the childrens area. Our A&E doesn't have a childrens ward anymore so what they have done is wall off a section (4 beds, 1 in a private room, 1 behand a partial wall and 2 side by side) and made it a childs A&E. There is a nursery nurse who is in there at all times, she does wander between the beds (hard to describe but it has a shared play area), he job is to entertain the kids and moniter them all. You are basically seen in triage and sent down. Rarely the beds are full and if they are then they take a seat in so atleast the child is being observed.
We were sent up to the childrens hospital because he was spaced out and still being sick 4 hours later, unfortunately it was a Friday night so transport would have been a wait but we drove up ourselves anyway. Once up there it was another 4 hours (3am) before they decided he was well enough to go home, but you are given a 24 hour pass (skip A&E you go back to that ward) and were told to keep up paracetamol, that his head would hurt for a few days and if he did hit his head again to keep a close eye even if it was a small bum since the head is delicate for a few days and a small bump can 'bring back' the concusion. We were told not to wake him but to rouse him slightly a couple of times just to check. And to look out for the spaced out look coming back.
They spent ages palying with toys which was just to make sure he was all ok. And as he has the hemi anyway, all their tests were kind of misleading!
Deffinately complain, or else they won't get better!0 -
Pigpen you made me laugh as this evening molly went upstairs for a wee and choose the toilet over the potty, its 50/50 at the moment. She got the step in place and for the first time "didn't need help". Got up turned around, sat down and leaned forward as i've taught her. As she was being so independent, i didn't hold her and knelt in front. As she sat up she didn't antipate having to support herself and fell down the loo!
Inside i'm panicking as i envisaged tears and refusal to use the toilet again, outside i laughed and joked about "what are you doing down there? blah blah. Thankfully she didn't cry, smiled at me and then grabbed some loo roll. Just as well i read your post with crocodiles afterwards!
Afterwards I suggested she use the toddler seat and she agreed and her dad confirmed when he took her later she had it all in place ready. Now having read this thread we're probably setting ourselves up for a problem maybe don't know. Jack seems to be "that's for babies and i'm a big boy now", so maybe not.0 -
We had a lovely (but very hectic!) days thanks
The service was lovely and the vicar was very child friendly so T went to him quite happily and was fine being tipped upside down (almost!) to have the water put on his head. He was a little star all day, good as gold, barely whinged apart from when he needed a nap, and happily went to random friends and family members who he barely knows for cuddles. My Grandma came which I was really
about, although a little
to see her looking so frail. She really picked up when we went back to my Mum's afterwards though and managed a little cuddle of T.
The only thing I am disappointed about is that we have hardly any pictures. It all went so quickly, and DH is normally the family photographer and he just didn't get a minute! I don't think anyone got a picture of T's lovely cake either, although I know people took some of it being cut so fingers crossed we've got a good one and someone sends it to us! FIL was doing some videoing too so he might have some.Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
I had a dress just like that when I was little... I loved it!! Wore it to all the partiesI'm looking for sparkly party tights! Had a look yesterday but they were all with dresses. (for Amber not me)
I think in the party season, Amber will be wearing this http://www.clothingattesco.com/Girls-New-In/F+F-Party-dress/invt/kc022121&bklist=icat,4,shop,catggirls,girls-party-ages-1-7 I almost bought it yesterday....
Do you use washing liquid instead of powder? I was using persil small and mighty and found it was making my washer smell awfull, I ended up running a couple of vinegar boil washes and then bleached it just to get rid of the smell... Apparently there are bleaching agents in the powder / tablets that cleans the machine but not in the liquid so it causes a slime build up...My washing machine has been playing up so i dismantled the kitchen(its inbuilt) and the gunk that has come out is absolutly minging! fingers crossed my handy work makes it better as i have a huge pile of washing to get through!
Hope Charlie has a good night
Don't you bloody start as well

Glad you had a nice day Gill, it was my nephews christening today too... It was a bit of a farce though tbh... But my sister enjoyed it... And there seems little point ranting about all the things that irritated me now lol...
And I just ironed all of Caitlyn's things, All Aimee's school uniform and a few shirts for Dave... Just the one big blue ikea bag full of stuff left lol... (And the pile has totally not shrunk because I went through it and pulled out bags full of outgrown/pre-pregnancy clothes... Honest...)A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... me too.....
who else would i tell about my pubic area injuries
Ow! Hope it's ok now xxBIG DRAMA!!! Just back from the hospital with Charlie we had to do a 999 ambulance job tonight!!!
He was running and fell head first into the radiator, he has a huge bump bigger than you could ever imagine and was very staggery and disorentated.
He is ok but it looks very sore and was very scarey! not sure if ill be back but OMG im starving lol!
That sounds really scary but pleased he is ok. James had loads of bangs on the head, including a massive forehead bump and he was fine once the shock had worn off. Hope Charlie seems better in the morning.
Pleased you had a good day Gill xx
Major trauma here this evening as teddy has gone missing. We spent about half an hour looking for it and couldn't find it, so Charlotte had to go to bed in tears without him. No idea where he can be, but searching vibes appreciated for tomorrow

Becles how do you do this?
I am really struggling with my courses. Already. Proud mum to now-grown-up daughter (Pebbles) and two lovely grandchildren (Roxy & Chip).
How time flies

Both! Just the whole concept of studying really. I mean, i went to school and plodded my way through GCSE's with hangovers, copied most of my best mates coursework etcWith difficulty!
What are you struggling with? Is it the content, or finding the time to actually do the work?
:rotfl: Then nothing, no brain work since.
Trying to read a 3 page article is impossible, i can't focus at all. And then i have to take notes from it, which i find impossible to do without copying blatant quotes from it.
Time management and staying focused are my biggest downfalls and yet they're 2 of the most important things you need!!
I'm really not clever enough to do this. They should at least find out if you're clever enough before enrolling you lol!Proud mum to now-grown-up daughter (Pebbles) and two lovely grandchildren (Roxy & Chip).

Have you tried the study skills page? There's some useful stuff on here:
http://www.open.ac.uk/skillsforstudy/
Also ring your tutor as they can advise best on how to tackle the course work.
It is tough. I've had days where I have a complete mind blank and get nothing done. Here I go again on my own....0
