For the first time in forever i managed to sleep!!! i only woke up 3 times which is huge for me
:D this sounds ridiculous but since everything happend i havent slept more than 4/5 hours a night and had regular wakings. I still feel that i could sleep for a week but hopefully this is me getting back to normality!!!
GISI we have bought a henry/hetty hoover for the kids! i think it was more for me though
CAFC glad your feeling more positive and when L sleeps try to get an hour so you dont burn yourself out!!!
Off to catch up on some washing! What's for you won't go past you0 -
definitely a step.. it helps the bowels to open if you are in a squatting position anyway so by rights we should use one too.. a handle to hold for extra stability is good.. but nothing fancy just a drawer handle firmly attached would be sufficient.
I have had a few occasions I needed to rescue a small child from the bowl though we never had a toddler seat.. they don't fit down the u-bend so won't flush away and crocodiles are too big to get up the u-bend so won't bite their bum!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
we got rid of ours when ds1 was 5 (it went to grandparents etc-complete pain) ds2 had decided that he didn't need to use it, he was 3 so very quickly ds1 decided he didn't need it-do you have any younger children?0

Set a date, talk to your DD about it, dont make too big an isuue about it, and then go cold turkey. Go to the toilet with her until her confidence builds up (try not to hang onto her or you may end up doing this for quite a long time). I have found with all sorts of things with my DD (also 6) that cold turkey is the only real way out of these situations. At 6 they are old enough to understand what is going on if explained to them. I had sat with my DD at night until she fell asleep (a terrible habit we had got into), one night I explained that she was a big girl now and her friends did not have their mummys staying with them, she looked at me and just said "you can go now mmummy". I think maybe it was more my habit than hers :rotfl:, this has been the same with a lot of things.
How does she manage when she goes to friends houses, or school trips etc?
Hope you find a solution, without too much hassel.0 -
So we visit the inlaws this weekend and MIL hasnt seen LO since February and LO walks in and says 'hello Lady'! and I just couldnt bring myself to correct her. Anyway there is a box in the living room and SIL said whats in there....MIL gets all huffy and starts having a go at her and when I looked its the Christmas presents we bought them last christmas still unopened! It was a planned visit too! On a better note I got my Chrissy pressy from OH - a pandora bracelet with some charms

Thanks for all your thoughts on the umbilical stump the other night - and for being so nice about new baby girl's name!
As predicted it fell off during the night on friday, found it at the back of her vest on saturday morning (eugh). However it has left a really funny little stump. Went to the midwife this morning who helpfully said 'I've never seen one like that before, it will either fall off some more or stay on' Helpful advice, thanks! Still, she wasn't worried and I'm not either - at least it no longer stinks.0 -

It was a full moon last night - I wonder if that is contributing to everyones bad moods.
All three of my children are driving me insane and OH is trying to sleep. We're going out to the park as there is less chance of me killing one of them if we're in a public place.:beer:0
