*hugs* CAFC. PM box here if you need it xx

Hope you are ok with the result Mel, but pleased the birthday went well xx

Brother is visiting this weekend and was speaking to my Mam on the phone. She said that my niece is still not sleeping through the night. She was 3 in July. My brother and SIL take turns laying on the bedroom floor for hours and gently coaxing her back to sleep.

If she was mine, I'd be marching in and saying firmly telling her to shut up and go to sleep, and following it up with punishments if she continued messing about :o

Two very different approaches and I know there is no wrong or right way, but I just thought I'd mention it as it interests me how people do parenting in wildly different ways.
Here I go again on my own....

Hmm - I am a bit of a coaxer and will spend *some* time coaxing Benjamin back to sleep if he wakes. But he mostly sleeps so if he wakes/doesn't settle then there is usually a reason for it.

But at the same time I am quite firm when he is taking the mick...and I have never spent more than 20 minutes shusshing and coaxing (I don't think).

There is no way in the world I would be spending hour on Benjamin's bedroom floor - for starters he is less likely to sleep with me in the room and I sleep starkers so I get very cold when I go to settle him!!!
