Has everyone else heard of the word Ofay, synonyms being "savvy" "has an understanding of" ?
I wasn't sure of the spelling so searched it on swagbucks and the definition comes up as being "Offensive Slang. Used as a disparaging term for a white person."0 -

ETA: I made a lucky guess at the spelling - I've only come across it spoken before.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Ofay might be a corruption of the French au fait, meaning up to date with. I didn't know it had a derogatory meaning as well
But then I'm not down with the cool kids.
Arghhh sick and rotten, bloody flu. And the baby's totally healthy again so she's being a big happy handful and my poor hands aren't up to it. Waaaaah.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

KK ((hugs)) sounds similar to T at the mo as he has bad diarrhea and nappy rash, may try the benarpthen cream - had a small tube but nearly gone now. To compound things he was sounding bad last night (weezy/crackling on his chest) so we took him to the emergency doctors at 11pm last night, then got refered to the childrens a and e dept - he has Bronchitis which is quite common in babies apparently. After a few checks on his oxygen saturation we didn't get home until about 2:30, then had to settle him down with a feed until 3, was up again at 05:30, back to bed at 6:15 but unsettled till a feed at 7, then didn't wake up till 10 - must have been exhausted. kk some advice which may help you is to do feeds little and often as easier for them not to have a lot in their tummies when struggling to breathe! Are you bfing or formula, as bfing should keep him nice and hydrated.Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

*demands to know where Mel is, as she doesn't like being kept in suspense*
Just came in from town, brrrrrrrr. Went to the library and apparently the takeaway book is a "potential" and the librarian has no idea when they might buy it - I've put my name down all the same. Meant to go to Aldi, but then got side-tracked by Holland & Barratt's BOGOHP sale and the charity shop. Is it sad that I felt a bit sad in H&B, as I remember the last big sale I was buying preggo stuff like EPO and RLT.
Finn is happily ripping up our Argos catalogue and I'm off to see what today's flylady tasks are.
eta: kitkat, camomile tea is supposed to be soothing for bums. Maybe try using some cut up flannels soaked in it to wipe his bum with?
I still have lots of calcium and RLT that I'm saving for next time as I never got round to using it all as A showed up a bit early!
Aless if you have a look on Amazon you can "look inside" some of the books, well if you look inside the Takeaway book you can see quite a few of the recipes
Au fait, you all beat me to it. Bloody know alls
Thanks for all the hints on fireguards, DH wants to get one asap to try and keep Alfie from standing up using the fire before we start to use it.
I'm looking at train tickets for the 21st December and I can get a 1 way ticket to Dundee for £24 :money: That's cheaper than petrol! DH might have to work xmas eve so I might take Alfie up a few days early and he'll come up xmas morning. Not ideal in any way but ho hum.
Oh and in other MSE news, I got a mage box (120 nappies) of Pampers Baby Dry Size 4 in Asda for £12. Thought that was pretty good at 10p per nappy.0 -

And *hugs* to kitkat and poor little T
*hugs* for Sir M and T too
My saga with bargain books direct continues....do you remember that my fisherprice set was damaged and I complained? They said they would send another one out...well it never arrived, then I checked my account and it said cancelled. I emailed them and they said "it's out of stock, sorry for the inconvenience":mad::mad: I was fuming so I sent a very angry email back. Someone range me today and they are sending me my first fairy tales (at my request!) instead :T Let's hope this one turns up!Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0
