    Thanks WM (and esio)

I make all her feeds in advance so she only hss two drops in anyway, so I will try just 1 drop and then cut out a few feeds of it altogether. My whingy baby is 6mths old today:) Maybe she will be less whingy from now on;) We swaddle too, well I wrap her up in a blanket so she can't use her arms anyway...don't know if that is swaddling, it's just what I have always done, except with ds1 who loved sleeping with his arms stretched above his head!

We are just awaiting one package from Amazon...I have had the other 2 and both my Play orders, the package we are waiting on was the one that was ordered first too. MIL ordered it 2wks ago from dh's wish list!! My order came within two days, I ordered it last tuesday and it came on thursday, that's how Amazon always seems to work for me?!

Bit of a booboo here... I have wrapped all the pressies for J, K and T and they are stored under my bed, however I forgot to put a sheet over them, well ds1 popped in the room this morning to tell me K was awake and he saw the wrapped pressies under the bed! I only found this out at lunch time because he started asking questions about santa... and asking whether santa brings adults pressies too, I told him no, we all have to buy each other stuff....queue a big 'Aaaaahhhhh, that's what the stuff under your bed is then'.....grrrr little monkey. I jusst agreed with him ans said yeah we have to buy all adults pressies and wrap them ourselves...haha, let's see if they recall the wrapping paper on christmas day.

Hello :hello: It really has been quiet without Susan :(

CAFC I am very sorry that your HV is useless! We're lucy here but the one I've got isn't taking on new people now. If you want me to I can always ask her any questions you want answered, although I believe she only works Mondays and Tuesdays. She'd be horrified to hear that a first time Mum has been asking for help and not getting it.

Bruno I'm glad your package arrived :)

Mel, my OH has a bad habit of going shopping and coming back with loads of stuff so I feel for you. At least he usually remembers what he went for, unlike me :o

Aless I'm very sorry you feel rubbish. Glad you're not going to work ill, that's a quick way to a burnout.

Can't offer any help re swaddling, I've never done it! I've always tucked them in tight though and they've slept better than with looser covers.

Finally Merry Christmas to everyone and I hope all the poorly peeps get better in time :D

Bruno, don't rub it in! :p He's gotten his shipping costs refunded, as it's rather a bit of joke. I already know what it is, but shhhhh don't tell him that ;).

Sleepyhead went for almost 4 hours this morning, up for around an hour and now back in bed. This bites, the medicine worked much faster last time :(. He also feels like he has a fever again *sigh*. I just want my happy baby back...

  • Hello and Happy Christmas to all

Robin is 17wks old now and doing well he weighed just under 15lbs 2wks ago - health visitor was fab and has visited every 2wks since he was 7wks old came last time 2 and half wks ago unless I ring her to come again or can go to clinic. He still doesnt really like feeding off the left breast but has it for a few mins now and then and will take if he wakes in night which is often now, can get him on it when he is almost asleep at bedtime feed as well.

He now sleeps in own room been in there for just over a week - on a different floor to us so I slept for the first time properly last night without waking and listening for him - we have a monitor and he has an apnoea mat! He has his crib inside the cot until he is used to the room then will put into cot.

He has slept most nights from 7.45pm/8pm til 6.30/7am had a couple of nights where he has woken at 5/5.30am had a quick feed and gone back to bed til 7ish.

Feeds alot in the daytime no real routine other than he has an hr nap in morning otherwise naps are hit and miss sometimes has 2hrs at lunchtime sometimes not and sometimes has 45mins around 4/5pm other times not.

Christmas is at home just the 3 of us looking forward to it.

We were going to wean Robin early ie at 17wks because he is always hungry but going to wait til the new year and see how we are going he watches us eat - so will get him a highchair in sale as have a mothercare voucher to use and sit him in it when we have dinner to get him used to mealtimes then have a go, prob going to go down the puree route have considered baby led weaning but not so sure.

You can do both purees and BLW. He probably will be too young to feed himself right now, so start with purees. In a few weeks start putting thing son his plate/tray, cooked veggies, banana etc. I am with the 'make them large hand sized bits so they can bite off what they want' camp. I found mine only choken on bitesized pieces. Just go with what he wants, doesn't matter how he is fed so long as some of it make sit to his tummy. So, easy weaning lol.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas, and hoping that all Poorly mummies and kiddies get better very quickly, Aless, Finn, Sami, Seth and of course our lovely Susan.

We dont swaddle here. Lily was too big for her blanket and she hates it anyway. If her arms are held down she gets really angry :rotfl:

I have my 20wk scan tomorrow morning :j

I swaddled DD and DS but this one is like lily evansangel, he gets really angry if we swaddle him but is quite happy just in his sleeping bag.

OH was home early today and gave him an afternoon bath and he smells so lovely at the moment, it never lasts. For some reason both my boys are stinky babies but DD never smelt except of baby. I love them when they are all clean out the bath though. I don't do baths, never have its always been OH job I just remind him to do it.

DD is at her school friends bday party so its really quiet here, DS instantly changed from hard work monster child, into lovely sweet helpful boy who quietly plays in his room the minute she left.
