I'm hoping you fashion girlies might be able to help me :D. I've been invited to an informal wedding reception which is being held at a bar. As I'm not normally much of a fashion/wedding/bar person, I'm a bit confused as to what I should be wearing. Any suggestions please :)

ETA: I've got a green cowl neck top similar to this http://www.coast-stores.com/CARMELLA-COWL/All-Tops/coast/fcp-product/2354628380 that I've never worn which might be appropriate, but what to put it with?
  • Thanks for the kind words cat people, I am looking forward to properly meeting them, I'm sure that will help :)

How about A pencil or fish-tail skirt, if the top is green maybe a navy blue or a black with polkadot print?
Maybe a necklace of similar coloured beads to the skirt, and a big cocktail ring?

Oh, that top is gorgeous - v slinky. I agree with PF - a pencil skirt would be lovely, with a pair of heels and some striking jewellery. xx

Eek, I don't think i've worn a skirt since secondary school and that was in the 1980s . I'm not a very girly girl and tend to live in jeans and tees, wear a uniform to work, and the only heels I own are on boots. I bought that top on an impulse but have never had the courage or fashion sense to wear it :o. Dare I step out of my comfort zone?
  • Thanks to all for the warm welcome! :)
This morning I wore dark blue jeans from red herring, which I argued with as have lost weight and they were baggy and had to hold up with belt on tightest setting! Had a few stomach bugs lately And didn't really need to lose to begin with :( also wore dark grey long tee with little sequins on sleeves and a black knitted batwing Cardigan, very old black boots from shoezone. Then had to go to work and wear ghastly White tunic and unflattering navy trousers :/
I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D

Trying to find a work life balance...:rotfl:

Mto in that case how about A pair of tailored trousers, some high waited ones maybe? A big statement necklace and a pair of boots :) you don't want to step too far out of your comfort zone or you'll end up feeling uncomfortable about yourself and not enjoy your evening!

Anyone know where I can get spirit gum from (and a remover) or otherwise if it'd be safe enough to use eyelash glue on your skin, I'm assuming it must be. Hmm.
  • I would say so PF - I doubt you could put it on a more delicate area (or would want to!) ;)

I know MAC Duo is for eyelashes and body decoration.

Haha, don't panic, not for any dodgy reason - i'm thinking halloween! ;)

Having never used false eyelashes, how does one remove them? Is there a glue remover you can also purchase? Think I need to go to boots today! :)
