As to the December 6th deadline, it'll be here before you know it. We were lucky enough to be in the first batch of November mail-outs so our claims were processed rapidly. However, as claims arising from subsequent batches add to Tesco's existing workload, it seems possible that processing may slow down.

Already has. Been waiting 4 days now for the email that Tesco send out with the code to use on Tesco Direct, and others have been waiting longer than that. They're now saying it could take as long as 28 days.

Small orders are going through fairly quickly, it seems, but larger ones are going through some kind of extra checking process, and there's an enormous backlog already.

People are already reporting that the items they wanted to buy have gone out of stock, leaving them with vouchers they can't use.

Coupled with the on third points devaluation this isn't making Tesco look too good. I'm getting rid of all my Clubcard vouchers now to avoid the devaluation, and I'm guessing a lot of other people are doing the same. I won't be back - a Lidl/Waitrose combination knocks the spots off Tesco.

Goldsmiths vouchers need'nt involve more spend, so long as you get the minimum £200 spend in vouchers.

A couple of years ago I bought a £2000 Omega watch, paying just £150 cash. Then my wife got a £2000 Ebel, but had to put about £600 towards that one.

I too have noticed that they are giving less points vouchers these days, but I no longer shop at Tesco half as much. I do most of my grocery shopping at Costco these days.

I did notice the other day that at goldsmiths you dont have to have a minimum £200 SPEND at the moment plus you can buy more than one item at the same time?
well done on the omega watch-i have a crusty omega in the cupboard that the jewellers broke and denied!!!

Doc: sorry to hear that -- if codes aren't even being emailed promptly, then the prospect of actual tokens being processed and quickly despatched via snail mail doesn't look good, either.

I've just re-checked our situation and see that we decided to cash in our existing vouchers on Saturday November 6th because we weren't sure when we'd receive our November Clubcard mail-out. We cashed all the existing stock for a foreign holiday token. Tesco Customer Services emailed us that same day with 'order confirmation'.

On Monday, November 8th, surprise, surprise: our November Clubcard mailing arrived with our latest vouchers. That same day, Tesco Customer Services emailed to say 'Tesco.com Deals: order dispatched' in respect of the November 6th transaction.

Also that same day, Monday, November 8th, we cashed in the newly arrived vouchers -- we actually placed *five* diffferent orders that day: a small one to balance up the holiday token to the £800 value max, 2 persons, and four smaller ones to clean out the balance. We duly received five emailed 'order confirmations' from Tesco CS.

On Wednesday, November 10th, we received five emails from Tesco CS: 'Tesco.com Deals: order dispatched'.

On Friday morning, November 12th, we received six separate envelopes via DHL Global Mail. Three envelopes were plain, three were emblazoned 'Tesco Clubcard' (whether that means Tesco was already running out of its printed envelope stock, I don't know.)

We had thought the orders would arrive in sequence, i.e., that the confirmed November 8 despatch would get here before the confirmed November 10 despatches. Obviously, they didn't.

So that makes us wonder if it's not only the ClubCard vouchers that are mailed out in "waves": could it be that the Clubcard tokens are similarly despatched? If so, then perhaps we struck lucky in getting all our vouchers allocated to a particular mail-out slot.

I mention the above sequence just as a guide to anyone else here who may be wondering about timings etc for their own redemptions, though with the earlier caveat that -- as Doc's post indicates -- it may well be that the later we get into November, the greater the slow-down in order processing due to the size of Tesco's workload.

Oh, a final if minor point: we had a quick look at the current eBay sales in which different sellers are all copying each other's text about how 'some Clubcard tokens' are not suitable for purchase because they're high-value with the recipient's name on them (holidays, for example) whereas lower value vouchers don't have any name printed on them and so can be bought on eBay without a problem.

Well, all our vouchers came with our name printed on 'em: I've the Good Food Magazine subscription token (£9 now in vouchers now, £14 in vouchers after December 6th) in front of me and our last name appears twice on it.

I don't know whether Tesco has decided to overstamp every issued voucher of whatever value with the Clubcard holder's name or not but eBay sellers and eBay buyers would seem to be taking a bit of a flyer on this named / unnamed issue. It's also noticeable from Tesco's own recent correspondence about the revision of redemption values that it is cracking down on "abuse", a reference, presumably, to voucher sales and purchases on eBay.
  • Can someone please help?

I had £105 in clubcard vouchers and I sent off to have them doubled in rewards to spend in the Mobile Phone department.

Now I hear from the 6/12 you can quadruple them!!, is there any way I can cancel this do you think and wait till after 6/12?!

If not then Tesco are very very evil

I think you misunderstand. You currently can get four times the value of your Tesco clubcard vouchers on some rewards offers (like restaurant vouchers). The double up offer is a completely separate thing, letting you double the vouchers on items that you could not have gotten 4X on. This thread is about how, come 6 Dec, you will only get 3X the value on things like restaurant deals rather than four. If you want to use your vouchers on mobile phones, you're fine, you've gotten the best deal by doubling them up.
  • I need advice asap bout what to spend £250 worth clubcard vouchers giving me a total spend of £1000 before Dec 6th. Which deal represents best value and which ones have no max spend?? Please MSERs who know this info help me! I've called Cosmos and with their max of £400 per person I'm looking to top up a holiday with £600 cash. I can book a separate holiday for 2 for £600 - it's such a con!!! Need edvice from people who have worked out the best deals. Not fussy what it is. Much appreciated.

Same boat/ amount here and you know what?

For all of the hassle, I am seriously considering getting £250.00 worth of food from tesco's.

    Far easier.

Re Phylpho's post last night, having ordered on the 9th NOvember, we got an 'Orders Despatched' email on our final batch of holiday tokens (got the codes online, instantly ordered the token) on Thursday 11th November.

7 days on, still waiting for them to arrive - already had the holiday company on the phone asking when we will be sending the tokens. They were fine with 'they're in the post to us, we'll send them ASAP' but I wonder for how long?

    Getting a bit twitchy...

Come on MSERs loads of you are in the same boat as me!!! I'm able to look now and anything worth having I'll post. One poster said they'll spend the vouchers on food shopping. I'm thinking those X4 deals must be the best even if I re=sell what I bought.

Looks like buying from Goldsmiths is the way to go. They have no minimum/max spend. I'm not into jewellery so looking to sell item for three quarters of the price and have cash instead which is what I really want!!!! Just worried that Tesco might impose a max spend without notice.
