Hmmm...20 posts so far and mine's the one that is currently conspicuous by the absence of any thanks

Oh well, that probably explains all the other posts and mutual backslapping.
How on earth is a thread discussing rape related to moneysaving?
If people would bother to read and digest the comments I post, then all will become apparent to them, and why the thread was moved to Discussion Time.
Here's a more direct link to the forum rule.

Martin's site, Martin's rules.;)
(but at least 11 currently appear to think it's a good rule)
Thanks Premier - we know the 'rules' and have all seen the comment that is put when a thread is moved. The question is the rather haphazard approach to interpretation of them.
How on earth is a thread about Rape a topic for discussion?
However if you feel that the question is further enhanced by even more links to more rules; then feel free.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

Don't take it to heart, it's my experience that the posts that join in more with the 'get them' type of emotional posting, get more thanks than anything that is factual or talks sense, on the whole.
Anyway, I don't like people feeling left out so have one on me.
I believe Martin may be aware of the growing feeling on this subject so hopefully he will be able to sort out some sort of suitable answer to the problem. Because it IS a problem.Herman - MP for all!

So are you saying that moving a thread about rape to the discussion board makes sense?
Personally, I couldn't give a flying **** about 'thanks' - if that's what Premier is here for then s/he may need to look inside her/himself.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

Is that really what you have understood me to mean by my comment?
Edit: I don't believe I actually need to answer that because I'm sure you're intelligent enough to know my comment does not = your reply. However 10 minutes spent wandering through any of the non financial boards will show many many posts which illustrate exactly what I mean.Herman - MP for all!

Yes, because it's almost certainly not about money saving so has no place on the main moneysaving boards.Sambucus_Nigra wrote: »So are you saying that moving a thread about rape to the discussion board makes sense?
...
The Board Guides role does not include dealing with abuse/offensive posts.
As it says at the top of every page:IMPORTANT!
This is an open forum - anyone can post.
Please exercise caution & report any spam, illegal, offensive, racist, libellous post to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Have to agree to disgree with you here, technically it may well be correct and comply with policy...but it doesn't make sense imo. But then the policy has never made sense either, imo.Herman - MP for all!

The facts in the case are that threads were moved, and I have no idea what you mean about talking sense.....inferring that those that are taking issue aren't talking sense. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

Just read things at face value, nothing is being inferred. Lets just drop this, we agree with the basic problem, our differences were in where to lay blame I think.Herman - MP for all!

I don't quite follow.
Are you suggesting that a non moneysaving thread should actually remain on the moneysaving board it was originally posted on?
Or, as I suspect, you are suggesting the Board Guide's role should be expanded, having more authority and be allowed to moderate, removing posts/threads they think are offensive?
Either way, this isn't a democracy and I mentioned the policy on site rules in the last part of my previous post.
However, as Sambucus Nigra appears to like my links, here's another one reinforcing my earlier comment

I think your trite comments on what is actually quite a serious topic underpins your attitude and reaffirms my original opinion of you.
PLENTY of non-moneysaving threads are on the families moneysaving board - but the decisions about which ones to move are entirely in the BG's hands. Ergo - the BG is responsible for the interpretation.
It's a shame that you can't see past your 'rules' to the actual issue. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0
