Mine will be 20, 18 and 17 by Christmas. My daughter is easy because she loves any girly bits and make up etc. The boys are harder but the youngest boy loves eating so his will be padded out with a large cornish pasty.:D
I make stockings for my 90 year old MIL and my 79 year old mum too. It gets harder every year to think of what to put in it. It is going to be especially difficult this year because my MIL had a party for her birthday and has been given so much she is stocked up for ages.0 -
My kids have their stockings downstairs with their other presents, and open them first, normally chocolate lollies, hollow santa clauses, novelty stuff from hawkings bazaar, choc money, any small presents and always a cuddly toy sticks out of the top.0

I also do a stocking for my hubby
He's having in his:
Shaving foam, razor heads, shower gel, the take-away secret book, a malteaser cracker, choccy lego men and some aftershave0 -
Satsuma apple or banana depending on whose stocking it is.
Bag of chocolate coins
a new DS game.. hey if it means I get an extra hour in bed I'm all for it lol
hair clips, pens, pencils a small writing/drawing/reading book.. 5 wrapped presents in all
Candy cane or jelly lolly.
Carton of juice is a marvellous idea.. I'm adding that this year!!!
Every year they have something christmassy to keep.. usually something we can keep and hang on the christmas tree.. a huge bell, fluffy fairy, knitted thing (Jean Greenhowe's book is my friend), finger puppets.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hi the choc lego men sound fab - where did you get them??
Cheers Sal
I got them on Ebay, I think they are sold as cake toppers but I thought they looked like a a fun stocking filler. 10 for £1.99. They are packed pretty basically but I've got some cellophane self seal bags that I'm using for my HM sweets so will put them in there0 -
For me the stocking is the bestest bit about Christmas, so I often go a bit mad (volume-wise, not necessarily cost wise
) for my children
Bubbles are always in there (eldest is 13 but is getting them again this year)
Looooads of sweets, of course
Magazine/comic
Make-up for girls
Puzzle book
Novelty stuff....this year we've got some bacon flavour mints, BBQ mealbugs and Hello Kitty stuff, depending on which we think will appeal most to each child
Make a Dreamcatcher kit each (99p from The Works)
Polystyrene planes (never get old!!!!)
erm *goes rummaging* glitter gel pens
parachute men
stink bombs/bomb bags/water bombs (all bought on e-bay)
Various tat <ahem, I mean, quality goods> from Claire's accessories when they had their "5 for a fiver" offer on
Goo/gunge/slime/putty
Various landfill <ahem, I mean, quality goods....really must sort out this speech impediment> from Hawkins
And still on the look-out for more. :snow_laug:snow_laug0 -

I'll be 24 at Christmas, but a stocking is the best bit
My mum (on behalf of FC
) tends to get similar bits each year, usually:
Expanding flannel
Percy pigs
Tin of Vaseline
Chocolate coins
Mug
Socks
Something small and jokey, ie a 'grow your own husband'
Mini toiletries
And, unless she wants me to sulk for the rest of the day, an Usborne Christmas Activity Book
I am such a child...Despite the name, I'm actually a laydee!0 -
My 2 get choc coins, a dvd, a charachter toy and then maybe a book or something - and then a couple off little bits which are different each year.0

If you have a couple of children, or are likely to want chocolate lego bricks or people in future years or for parties etc, you could search e-bay for "Lego Ice Cube" and it will bring up silicone ice cube trays. About a tenner including postage, but in the long run it could work out cheaper for you to make your own
If you were to melt broken wax crayons in an old saucepan, cool until body temperature and then pour into the moulds you'd be able to make lego crayons tooJust a thought
