What do you put in a christmas stocking?

Options
My 2 children have a christmas stocking each year, which gets left on their bed for when they wake christmas morning.

I normally put in a satsuma, tube of sweets, top trumps cards, choc coins, dvd or ds/psp game and whatever small(ish) present i can find to fill.

Just interested/nosey to find out what others fill their christmas stockings with?

and always an annual underneath. Used to be Beano and Dandy, but now it's Private Eye and Viz (but they are 22 and 24 years old... still need a stocking on Christmas morning though!)
Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!

Satsuma, shiney red apple, chocolate coins, carton of juice, sweets, bubble bath, cd/dvd, rolled up comics, small games/puzzles, smellies (eg lynx, aftershave etc), specialist food items - chilli grinder, spices, herbs etc, silly gadgets from Debenhams, more sweets, box of dates, socks, knickers, pens/pencils, soap, glue sticks, stickers, room sprays, baby bib, talc, matchmakers..........

Just a few of the things I've put in them over the years - depending who it's for, of course!

PS - and all wrapped up properly - with LOADS of sellotape on the stuff for the teenage boys & my OH!

Sadly I have no children, as I'm still looking for Mr Right, but when I was younger I used to get:

a stocking of chocs - just seen them return to Tesco for the first time in years
    book/audio book (cassettes back then!)
small toy - Polly Pocket/Sylvanian Family character
    choc coins
    bubble bath
    more chocs!

Now I'm a grown up, my Mum still gets the Big Man to send me a stocking:D These days it's:

    shampoo
    conditioner
    deoderant
    piece of jewellery
    lipbalm

mainly things to save me a bit of money, with a "nice" present like the small piece of jewellery

She doesn't know FC will be delivering to her this year too:T:rudolf:

Yep! Except the apple, coins & satsuma. Only odd bits of cheap stuff/leftovers etc.

Originally gauged it on 'long enough to keep child entertained for an hour or so & let Mum & Dad sleep', then it changed to 'long enough to make pot of coffee & consume 2 large mugs before the day starts'! :rotfl:

    Colouring pencils?
Some printed out festive colouring in pictures?or a cheap colouring book?
    Chocolate orange?
    Tube of smarties (always smarties)
A christmassy dvd - if they have a dvd player in their room could they watch this before they get up?
    Uno - a card game
A crafty type stocking filler like origami or make paper planes?
A festive bean toy - disney do different ones each year
    A new face cloth?
    Underwear?
    Socks?
    A hair comb/brush

For older - a nice deodorant?
    Hair accessories?
    Nail varnish?
    New mascara etc?
    socks?

Hope that helps a little bit Im thinking just small things they would need or small presents that you could wrap but maybe in tissue paper that could take some time for them to open and give you a little lie in and entertain them?
Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together

I do the same for the same reason:rotfl::rotfl:

One year I added up the price of all the things I had bought to go in DD1's stocking and it really did shock me as it came to £37 last year I bought them all one of the ones from hawkins bazaar already made up for £15 each the girls loved them and all the bits they said santa had really spoilt them so they will be having the same this year.
Only problem was I took it all out of the stcking to wrap and couldn't get it all back in so they ended up with a few extras under the tree. :D
