I have had similar problems to most of you. Everything was fine , well after I sent them the second mac code as they lost the first one. But as soon as they upgraded us to 8 meg I lost the phone. I too phoned numerous times from my mobile which cost a fortune. Eventually after many updating texts every 48 hours which didn't actually tell me anything and 9 weeks later I dicovered my phone was working. However the line is terrible, people cant hear me and vice versa. Also I never recieved the new modem and however good the deal seems to be I am going back to Tiscali at the end of my contract.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

MSE has made deciding what to do with money easier - except here. I was about to sign up to talktalk - as following MSE's guide has served me very well over last two years - but having read last few pages of posts & 1st page, I'm left thinking it's not worth the risk of moving. It seems like a lottery as to whether/not I'll get as good a service as I've had. (Madasafish -last year's top MSE recommendation - they've been almost flawless). It'll cost me 10 pound per month more than TT.
..what to do...? On the other hand, your poll does not show who has had a good experience & where they live.
I'm in SW London. What's the service like here? I've got to decide by 11/1/070 -
Just a uick update from earlier post. We are still without landline, which has been nearly 6 weeks now. Mobile bill is sky high and i am fuming. No one seems to know what is happening. Hubby is ringing them now and i think he will explode at the poor person at the end of the phone.

My two'penneth for what it's worth..
Applied May 7th
Phone switched within 2 weeks.
Oddly enough the 'free' bit of the deal has not been so forthcoming
Was given go live date for end of Aug. Sent off MAC code at end of August. End of Sept, nothing heard. Phoned India (!) who told me they had not been given my MAC code!?
( I'd phoned it in and posted it at the same time just in case)
Then got phone call saying due to my exchange, MAC code not required & I'll be online within 2 weeks
2 weeks came & went, still nothing.
Emailed Mr Dunstone and got email from CS asking me to get another MAC code for them and they'll have it sorted this time within 10 days! To be honest by this time I had lost faith in them
Never had a modem or start up pack, and frankly service has been rubbish
I will be cancelling once holidays are out of the way etc. I'd rather pay a few extra pounds a month and actually get a service
I'm surprised they are still being recommended on this site- what other provider of ANY service has had such poor feedback?
Needless to say the only efficient part of Talk Talk has been the person who sends out my phone bill every month. That always arrives no problem!0 -
