Good luck with the holiday, you did do well out of it last year. We're not going to bother this year as I think i'll get too stressed taking DS while he is young. We're not far from the coast so will have days out. Also, it rained for most of our holiday in Devon!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

Booked five daily mail hols. For March, Easter, June half term. October half term £252.50 spent so far but ents passes and service charges to add.
Last years five breaks cost £410.83 so hopefully will be on a par.
Just worked it out and its £472.75 with ents passes and service charges. Not sure if we will have to pay ents passes for the girls as at 2/1 last year we didn't. I have included them, but will be a bonus if we don't. Very pleased as we are going in all the school hols now as well as DD1 is now in pre school.OPs so far £42,139

That's a lot of bang for your bucks hon, well done :j. Where are you going?
Goes off muttering 'still wouldn't have got me buying the Daily Mail for 5 days' :rotfl:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Well done! I think you're very wise missing out the Summer months of July and August when the weather is at its worst! Also breaks your year up quite nicely.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

We are going to the north and east coast - (yorkshire) about 2 hours from home.
Trying to keep grocery bills down, spent over £50 last week which is shocking, but did include two boxes of nappies. Plus had tea out today £10.37 so not too bad. Need to keep on with it though.OPs so far £42,139

£1200 overpayment sent:j
Bad news only £600 left of 10% Halifax allowance and we will start being charged for overpaying. Boo:mad:
Considering just reducing the term to up the amount we can overpay but I know it is risky when we are reliant on tenants, overtime for the majority of our income.OPs so far £42,139

Well done on the overpayments, what a great start to the year. I have changed my term a few times to increase and decrease the monthly payments to fit in around the money DH and I were earning. I stopped doing it when the bank introduced a charge, do your bank change the term for free? Nothing to lose if so.Mortgage free Jan 2012

just reading your post sarahevie...we are with the halifax too. we had reduced our term last year but have just changed back to the original term because things were becoming too tight. It is only a matter of a phonecall and you can always revert back to your original term with the halifax. hope that helpsCredit card £4461.15Home mortgage £137117Buy to let mortgage £83,0000

Week three for DD1 in pre school and some other child has gone home with her bag, which contained a change of clothes, wipes, etc. So hoping it will get returned. Not loads of value probably £20 to replace though.
Washing machine finally given up the ghost, we paid £80 from the last owner of the house for it, 4 1/2 years ago so it hasn't done bad. Probably 7/8 years old but has had a lot of use with the kids.
As mum and dad have recently put in a new kitchen with integrated appliances they are going to give us theirs. It's 3/4 years old but it's a bosch so quite a good make, so should get another 4/5 years out of it. Hopefully it will make it the 35 miles between us and them without breaking.
It's not coming until Monday so won't have been able to do washing for a week which is a pain but manageable.OPs so far £42,139
