I seem to be the only person where 'whoopsies' are a bad idea.

Trying to keep grocery spends down this week after spending £70 last week. So Saturday £6.30. Then Wednesday £4.54 (on whoopsies). Thursday needed nappies and whoopsies £15. Then Friday needed toilet rolls and got some more whoopsies £10. Was walking past Sainsburys when they were reducing yesterday another £3 on whoopsies.

£40 this week, not horrendous when you include nppies and 24 rolls of toilet rolls, but buying all these whoopsies including dohnuts, bread, pizzas, chicken just means that I am eating way too much:rotfl:

  • Sarahevie i have a bit of a problem with the whoopsies to and have to try and resist some things because if your not going to use them it doesnt matter how cheap they are its still a waste of money.
Totally agree on the savings that can be made within the first few years aswell as this is when the most interest is charged. The last time we remortgaged due to getting a better interest rate and because of overpayments we managed to knock 7 years of the term and still keep the payments the same :j:j

Just had to put complaint in about one of the threads on the 'families' board a prolific poster described going to hospital as 'unsafe' talk about scare mongering.

Also described our hard working doctors and nurses as 'idiotic morons and scum' - it has made me absolutely livid.

Back to moneysaving, have spent £20 on shopping today hoping it will last until next Sat making our three week grocery spend £130 which would be fab.

Also bought DD1s 3rd birthday present today. They were selling a lot of the 'seasonal' stuff off in George so I got her two cars duplo sets, a cars etcher sketcher, a new duvet set, a 'cars' blow up seat. A cars cuddly toy and some thomas the tank figures. She absolutely loves cars and thomas the tank, proper little boy:rotfl: A princess dress up set and a hello kitty music set. All for less than £40. Really chuffed with it all

You had some good buys there, DD is 3 next month and I don't know what we're getting her. She has just had a trampoline though so not going mad on her birthday. More than anything she wants to go to Gullivers World, she asks to go everytime the advert comes on so I will have to look into that. I will be 38 weeks pregnant on her birthday though!

Cath -I think that your DD must be a similar age to my DD, she'll be 3 at the beginning of Oct, she was due in Sept but was late :rotfl:

Just had our tax credits payment and the amount has reduced:eek:Hoping that this is to do with me starting work as opposed to them just cutting the amounts for everyone.

Having lots of problems with my new tenants and they haven't even moved in yet. They want to move in early, so I said no as they are not paying rent. Then she comes out with well I don't want to use the house, so I fired back with well you don't need the keys then.

I hate confrontation but my mum said I need to be tougher. Then I went to check on said house yesterday and found that two sockets in the kitchen don't work:mad: So that's a job for today find an eletrician

Have just had our 'sun hol' through for Oct. Put in diff dates but we are going to Reighton Sands a Haven near Filey on DD1's b day Mon-Fri so very pleased. Has cost all in £65.80.

We managed to get dates with free ents passes so just had the Sun price £38 plus £27.80 power charge. Very pleased.

Have been on four 5 day 'The sun' breaks this year including two in July for a total cost of £343.80 for a family of four that is amazing going to do the same next year.

Turns out that there is a problem with the earth wire at my rented house so will be a couple of hundred to fix. Also the buildings insurance is due for renewal so very expensive month - just when I thought I was going to do an OP.

My renewal quote is £163 which is good for landlords cover but will compare anyway and check small print.

On the plus side the tax credits lower payment is due to my job as the amendment came through the post, yay, no overpayment phew!

Also I've got a job interview for a 'professional' job next Wed 24th (I'm at work that day so could be an issue as it's not a lot of notice) but I want the job so any tips of how to get out of work??

Well it's only one day, so you could ask for a holiday... you could ask to swap a day, you could invent a funeral, hospital appointment etc, or you could just phone in sick :D (Not that I have ever done anything like that :))

I'm going to see if I can swap with someone. The risk with that is that if I can't then I can't then invent something as they will know, but I think swapping should be ok. I work in a shop and there's loads of uni students there at the min.

Landlords insurance was £153 via compare the market - very very pleased with this. Could have been cheaper but this was a level of cover I'm happy with. I don't like to scrimp on landlords insurance houses can be expensive quickly

Yes our DD's are a similar age, she is 3 end of September.

Hope you manage to swap your shift. You've done really well with the Sun Holidays, what a bargain!
