I'm pleased especially as our monthly earnings are £2800, yet normal mortgage payments take £1550 off and we have maintenance on two homes.
This means we have been spending over £2000 a month on the mortgage. (including OP pot). Also have had to get two new boilers (both went within months) and spent £2300 on garden landscaping. We virtually spend nothing on anything else but the housesOPs so far £42,139

Had a lovely surprise today my online (halifax) mortgage balance dropped overnight from £121000 to £116000, no payments were due.
It is the adjustment, since my balance (after overpayment last Dec) has dropped the interest has dropped so more of my payment has been taking 'capital' off. I had thought that it was odd how little was going off the capital, however it is now sorted:j:j
Cannot wait to knock my OP pot off as well.OPs so far £42,139

this may be true but theres a few 'issues' with the halifax online banking as it has just gone onto the lloyds systems, i dont have a mortgage with them but a few accounts were showing incorrect amounts, after looking on here theres a few threads with people questioning why the balances where wrong.
(hope i'm wrong and your balance has gone down!!)0 -
Just done a comparison for utilities bit disappoint a the cheapest I could get will increase my DD from £54 combined to £41 for electric and £17 for gas.
Ok so not horrendous but upsetting. If I'd gone onto NPower's standard though I'd be paying almost £90 a month.:money:OPs so far £42,139

I really hope your balance has gone down too, but when I checked my Halifax account online on Monday, mine had dropped by £4K - I rang them on Tuesday and it hasn't changed at all. The 'error' was due the changeover that Brodiebobs mentioned - what a disappointment!Emergency Savings Fund - £11002015 Mortgage overpayments = £0

Well mortgage balance back up to 121000 and I've double checked spreadsheets and it is correct.
So disappointing after a large (to me) overpayment still not much is coming off the capital each month.
Onwards and upwards, thinking about finally having the plans drawn for the extension. Really can't be bothered with having house on the market with the market being so flat round here.
We can remortgage about £30K out so wondering how much that would get me.
Builders won't quote without plans so thinking I might have to pay £500 to see whether it is feasible.OPs so far £42,139

Asda Price guarantee well worth trying.
If your shopping isn't 10% cheaper they give you a voucher for the difference, I've been saving my vouchers and bought DD1 a winter coat for £1.13 yesterday result:jIt's really nice fleece lined and quite long / pink naturally:rotfl:
Someone actually said to me today, I don't think of you as being very girlie. Then I look at the kids both bright pink coats, DD2 in a dress and DD1 in leggings and pink top with matching pink wellies and my bright pink Quiny buzz pushchair - eek :eek:Maybe we are a bit pinked outOPs so far £42,139

More chaos at the rented house, can't work the thermostat (these are supposed to be trainee teachers). Got a call later on to say that they had found instructions online - yay:j Have already shown them myself and left the manual that came with the boiler:mad:
Next they are struggling to get the pin code in on time and the alarm keeps going off, the pad is next to the door:mad: I've never had a problem nor did the last tenants.
I'm going to print them off a copy of the instructions and mail them to them (there doesn't seem to be a way of increasing the delay it is set to 15 seconds which seems enough to me). Really don't want them tampering with the alarm. It was only serviced on the 18th of AugustOPs so far £42,139

Well it is payday here and I have decided to whack another £360 at the OP pot, it is now only a mere 2 months til I get the OP allowance back:j
Seriously considering taking the term down to 8 years (2019) and being mortgage free when we are 34/35.
Means an extra £500 a month mortgage payments, but what a great deposit on a new house when the kids will be 11/9.OPs so far £42,139
