Went out for lunch with 'friends' today.

Don't think I'll be doing it again in a hurry. As 'friends' child 'the one who can never do anything wrong, and is so much prettier, cleverer, better behaved than my own' was being more spoilt brat by the second.

Had to listen to how I should do a whole range of things - no thanks I'll do it my way:D, I very nearly snapped. Twice out of the last four times I've seen her she has shouted at one of my children,.

Not very MSE and it is my DDs bday party on Fri and now I don't want them to come. Will have to grin and bear it

I bet you can't wait to OP again. I am going to reduce our term down in April (we will officially have 17yrs 10 months) but can't see us getting it down to 8 years - would be nice though!

Hi Sarahevie, This happened to me a few months back with a so called friend, I never saw her again. :T

I Wanted to say your diary s great! A real inspiration, I am now determined to get more overpayments made. Can I ask what goal you set yourself every month for the amount of over payments you make? Mine is £225 but after reading your diary I feel I should do better. x

I currently earn about £1500 per month, so try and put away £500 as this will make me MF by 35:j

I also feel I NEED £1000 per month. Mortgage is £425, plus half of all the bills and food. Plus repair work on the 'properties.' If there's more left over it goes into the pot too.

OH earns £1017 a month and he manages on this. He pays half of everything as well. I don't get involved with his money and he doesn't touch mine.

Although all the btl expenses come off my money and the car, as he doesn't drive so those expenses are mine too.

Had a great wkend. Fri was DD1s bday party had a great time.

Lots of lovely people, presents laughter.

Today OH took the girls to see his parents as I was working. They have bought DD1 a coat very similar to the one I already bought so will save one for DD2.

Have fallen off the bandwagon money wise as DD1s party cost £70 including cake, party bags etc. Had to fill up for petrol so £48. Then needed shopping £20 very expensive weekend but had a great time.

Have worked 16 hours over the weekend to compensate.

Back from our hol courtesy of 'the sun' hol deals - good to be back but have spent A LOT (for us) this week about £130 normally spent less than £50 but enjoyed the bar (obv only one drink though) and having a couple of takeaways and stuff.

    It was DD1s 3rd bday on 3rd, cannot believe she's three:j

Two no spend days - am starting to get converted to these - don't see the point in no spend days if you are overcompensating on the 'spend' days IYSWIM

Get paid child benefit tomorrow so I'm considering whacking the rest of the current account into the OP pot around £250. Get paid on 21st but will only be around £400 - so will decide tomorrow.

Now over the 8K though - would love to get to 9K

Aw your DD and my new little man share a birthday, I had him on the 3rd. Sounds like your OP pot is filling up nicely!

3rd no spend day. Weather still pants here. But took the girls out earlier for a walk. Had a great time just splashing in the puddles. Such a great fun couple of hours.

Really enjoying just being at home playing with DD1s new toys - she is so fab at jigsaws. Working tomorrow for 8 hours.

Boo car tax and hol to be paid for £140 - still considering another OP.

Really annoyed with Oh, our washing machine isn't working and has been dodgy for a while. Instead of agreeing to replace it, he can't afford it. He can always afford PS3 games, pub, new clothes.

On Fri, he fiddled with it and got it working, but would only let me do one load. Now it's Mon and I need to do two loads of washing for our hol tomorrow and I'm fuming.

Tried to tell me I had done more than one load over the weekend I hadn't, as he thought it would 'overload' it.

I'm all for money saving but I've got two young children and cannot live without a washing machine. Now the decision is whether to find a laundrette, I know there's one near my other house - or risk him being able to fix it when he gets in.
